In the end this technology or similar will make sure that this merges RAM and harddrives into one. I wish we had that technology already.

I think that cooler may be good enough for a fan replacement. Unscrew the attached fan and use a low rpm 120mm fan instead.

"Regular" 182 user here. Best case I've had so far but I have some criticism Since many of us change the fans, it would be great to be able to softmount the top fan. Fan mufflers for backside and top please. Blue leds emit way way too much light, during night it becomes some sort of space war :) (HD...

Seems the 8800GT will have better stock cooling as default soon:

Larger fan and lower RPM but not cool enough if you ask. Still a move towards the right direction.

For overclocking, I remember reading that there was a core frequency ceiling (860 perhaps?) and that there was some hack or patch if you wanted to go higher. That's correct and I have already downloaded the firmware and the flashtool to allow higher overclocks. They're called: ATI.HD3870.512.071102...

Good to know that I should stay clear from the 750GB.

Oh how disappointing it would've been to have 250GB / platter..

I have used the passive cooler that is in the first picture. Didn't really lower the temps at all but it succeeded in making the harddrive (7200.10) more quiet, far more tolerable.

I use a Nexus 120mm and have used zip ties, but I haven't placed it centered since the card needs some cooling on the mosfets.
Still temps are far better than VF900CU at the lowest setting.

Third time I write this so this time it's a short-short version. Had noise from Samsung CRT 959NF which also was blurry compared to TFT. Replaced with Samsung 931BW which was very noisy and had poor viewing angles, also felt too small with 19" Widescreen. Replaced with current Philips 200WP7ES 20.1"...

Samsung F1 750GB seems available in Sweden.

I might pick one up, but unfortunaly I've had some trouble with my 501LJ (clicking noise)

Edit: Seems that a 640GB model will be available. Two platters and to me highly interesting :D

I seriously doubt the GT version of the cooler is much more efficient, and since I'll be using it with a fan anyway there should be no problems what so ever.

Seems to me he wants to sell just another cooler.

Don't forget to cool those mosfets though :)

Repost from another topic..

I just started to have a clicking noise in my about 0.5 year old 501LJ. Had to delete one file, seems one part of that area is unusable. Will run a bunch of tests on the harddrive to determine if I can do something about it, but it looks like it's a warranty matter. Luckily it seems to work in all o...

And if so, what would be recommended?

Excellent to know that the original HR03 works with this card.

Those few who have so far been able to purchase the card. Do you have any problems with voice coil buzz...something that seems to have plagued many Nvidia cards.
