Yeah, I have to agree with this one. The EPCR link has been "top news" for long enough, especially considering that the EPCR page hasn't seen any significant updates for a while.

Don't think acoustic technology for PC cases has really advanced much mainly because people want silence but don't want to pay for it. Premium brands like Bang and olufsen or Bose do not yet exist for PC cases. Well, 6-7 years back it simply wasn't possible to get a "silent" case, it simply did not...

A couple of things to check: run cmd and from command line type "ipconfig /all". Does your wireless connection have valid IP address, gateway and DNS addresses? Also, it might be that the problem is with your encryption settings. This may cause the Windows wireless service to think that you're assoc...

Speaking of Razer mice I have a Razer Pro|Click and I've been very happy with it. I have an NSK2400 (low-end AMD64, seasonic PSU) doing the same tasks (no R@H though) in a very cramped shelf but with an open backside that is close to the wall. This thread is really old but I think this update might be relevant: I just replaced a broken power supply in an old TBird 1,4GHz computer. Re: Works just fine under Linux and the fan is very quiet
Judging from changing pages in the BIOS screens, the board feels "slow". I don't think it is possible to judge the performace of a computer by the snappiness of the BIOS. At work I use CPUs ranging from old 233MHz Geodes to 1,4GHz Pentiums and the BIOS speeds fell more or less equal. Which is of co...

Yeah, Openfiler does have iSCSI support (via http://iscsitarget.sourceforge.net/) but it is imperative to remember that iSCSI is a SAN solution, not NAS. In practise, you can only have one initiator connect to a target LUN at a time or you will get file system corruption on the target. Havng >1 init...

You need to have a Samba server running on the Linux system and share a folder that the relevant user has at least rights to. I'd say that you well might get an improvement in the noise or cooling, depending largely on the fans and how well they undervolt. Anyway turbulence noise should be quite minimal with low airflows. I replaced my two undervolted 80mm Nexus fans with a single 120mm Scythe that is still undervolted but...

I'd say that most if not all VGA cables are have protection shielding wrapped around the signal leads. Re: Can I use any CF card with a bootable IDE adapter?
As far as I know there are three types of CF IDs: removable, fixed and automatically sensing. Fixed and autosensing should be perfectly ok with an IDE adapter. The problem is that only few manufacturers clearly state the ID type. Thanks. Do you know how I can check the ID types of my CF cards? At l...

There could also be problems with the CF disk identifying itself as a removable storage device. This causes problems on some operating systems (WinXP at least) as the OS does not want to put the swap file on a removable disk. As far as I know there are three types of CF IDs: removable, fixed and aut...

The Zalman 9500 heatsink fits, if just barely. You have to bend the topmost fins to each side to shave a couple of millimeters from the net height of the heatsink. It was a pain to get the fanmod done after bending the heatsink fins as there was not much tolerance left for the 92mm fan to fit nicely...
