I heard that Nero can control the speed of Sony drives to reduce noise, but not on Samsung. Is it true?

My own questions that I guess will be answered in due time: 1) Are there "flap open" drive bay covers for the 5 1/4 drive bays? Or are they just standard covers that get removed? 2) What kind of hard drive mounting solution do they have? (Rubber Grommeted? ) 3) Those fan speed controllers...can you...

Perhaps it difer from system to system, but CAS latency 3 or 2 - hell, this is pretty huge boost - or downgrade :!: Probably I should buy CAS2 rather than CAS3 for an AMD Athlon 64. I would go for nVidia FX5600, just the the quality drivers. I got very bad experience with my R9100 from Sapphire - n...

GMC Neo Classic has good quality without any modification. I beg to differ. Its airflow qualities are downright poor, and I doubt a system as hot as this one will be at full tilt could be cooled quietly in that case. Thanks for the advice. I didn't know that Neo Classic is that bad. Maybe I should ...

Comment on the first AMD Athlon 64 I will be building!

I am going to build a 64-bit computer for my friend. I am considering those parts listed, and the system is going to be Digital Audio Workstation and not going to be overclocked. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ or 3200+ Kingston HyperX KHX3200K2/1G MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Powercolor Radeon 9200SE 128MB 2 x Samsung SP...

Nothing is stopping me from buying it except the fact that it is not reviewed on SPCR.

I would rather live with a crazy 120dB computer than spanding $1400 on a computer case. At $280, I may feel like to buy it in case it is made also for next generation form factor like BTX.

The GMC branded fan in Neo Classic from Startech.com

I asked GMC if the GMC branded fan in Neo Classic is ADDA, and also asked some more questions, and I got a reply from a GMC guy who is in charge of intenational sales. The answers were 1. The GMC branded fans in Neo Classic are ADDA fans . The only fans they have been selled to Startech.com are ADDA...

Why people arguing about which is better? This PC vs. Mac thing is an endless War. I have been building at least fifteen PCs in my life, and using Mac for 4 years. PC is good in some aspects, and Mac is good in other aspects. Should I be on PC side or Mac side? You just buy something what you want, ...

Don't buy Samsung HDDs made before mid of 2003. Samsung is Korean company and even Koreans didn't buy Samsung HDD until summer or fall 2003 even though Samsung HDDs were cheaper than others because of bad bad quality. Now Samsung makes fast, silent and good HDDs, but its reliability is still not pro...

The fan they use in Korea is AD0812DS-A70GL made by ADDA and it is rated at 15dB. Four 15dB fans would result in 21dB technically as far as I know. But in the United States the fan is branded as GMC, not ADDA. I just asked GMC by email if the GMC branded fans included in Neo Classic is made by ADDA....

Samsung HDDs were very good back in mid of 1990s. Samsung's HDDs which is smaller than 1GB was known good. However, Samsung HDDs had been known not good and not reliable for at least 5 years. Samsung's new HDDs are improved and they may be faster, quieter, cooler than others according to some review...

External Enclosure USB/Firewire IEEE1394

For 3.5 inch HDDs, I recommend "Ice Cube USB/Firewire" unless you are going to use it for system HDD, because doesn't have any fan and it can result in too high temparature for your HDD. They make USB, Firewire, USB/Firewire, and USB/Firewire/Firewire800. On the review, OWC uses their name for the e...
