There is no difference between vista home / ultimate, apart from the amount of programs offered with the OS. Here is an overview of the differences on the MS website.womble wrote: 3.I am intending to get vista. (btw would vista home be slower than vista ultimate?)

I haven't got a clue about memtest, you could always test the two memory sticks independent from each other... but I don't know if that is a perfect way. There are several programs for vista which differ between home premium and business. Media center is not included in the business version, and som...

Hmm, I see I have missed a little detail, the price difference in your case, through the trade with evga. Sorry about that. I hope I didn't confuse you to much. I think the deal with evga is a good one. But as the card generates 60watt more heat at full load, I guess that there won't be any after ma...

There are several components which can crash your pc, it's not only the memory. If memtest succeeds as it does in your case, I would start looking to other components. Sometimes the motherboard chipset gives up, then all kinds of things start going wrong. I had a failing IDE controller once, so my s...

I would advise you to look into ATI/AMD 4850/4870 series. Those are equally fast, cheaper and are using less power, according to xbit labs.

The problem with all those cheap things it that they are cheap. So there was no money to test them properly and use enough hardware. I bought a 3com office connect. Using wireless internet, firewall, running all kinds of "nasty things for routers" like bittorrent, emule. It never crashed ever since ...

The intel push pin's can be removed by rotating them 90degrees, (I thought in the oposite direction as the arrow is indicating). Then you can pull them out easily without problems. They are designed to be removable in this way. No special tools required. I have tested it with the scythe ninja and th...

E6600 + Scythe ninja running hot
I have some troubles cooling my cpu, especially at hot days. I am not really afraid of some high temperatures, but currently it is getting somewhat out of hand. I replaced the Antec tri-cools with nexus fan's and undervolted them so they run at 700/800 rpm. (done with bios options from my asus mothe...

The hottest parts are cpu, gpu. As soon as the computer shuts down, there is NO heat source anymore, so there is nothing which will heat op more than it is already, while there are often large cooling fins around to dispensate the heat. I can't imagine which part of the computer would heat up after ...

Asus has the motherboard temperature sensor on a "hot spot" and asus motherboards do have a normal operating temperature of 40-60 degrees Celsius, according to asus. according to intel your cpu may reach 71 degrees, (cpu temperature, not core temperature). It's always frustrating if the cooling isn'...

My dad has such an HP unit. Yes it is big, but it works brilliantly, scanning printing etc. There is a counter balance in the printer for the printing heads, so it doesn't shake that much. It stands on a sturdy table, haven't seen anything shake or tremble, and it is certainly not moving away ;) It ...
