Bumping old post. Yeah I plopped in the E2140 and it worked without a hitch. I got a great deal on a P35-DS3R (same price as the P5K-VM) so I swapped the board. I'm sitting at a round 3 GHz with less than stock voltage. E2140 -- L2 rvision VID 1.3250V Tjunction 100C Set 1.3750V in BIOS (F5), loading...

You could probably fit the SATA cables in the curled front panel cable for a bit, then tie the rest when they need to part.

Got my P35-DS3R Rev 1.0 Some notes: - 2 more SATA ports over the DS3 - Some connector locations are changed (audio in connectors) - Beefier northbridge sink (nearly twice the size) I was able to fit a Scythe Ninja Rev A. without clearance issues. It came very very close to the NB sink. As for power ...

My B3 has a TJunction of 100, so I have to adjust temperatures in Speedfan by adding 15C, just like all the new G0s.

Google analytics/syndication Javascript slowdowns

Hey, Tonight I couldn't browse many sites like SPCR, Slashdot, [H], but other sites that run no/very little ads like XtremeSystems and RFD load no sweat. I recall seeing this article about Javascript slowing down the loading of webpages. After disabling Javascript, everything loads very fast. With i...

Wait until you get your P182 before you begin replacing parts.
The case with the front door closed will muffle the noise from your hard drive in the lower chamber, possibly to the point where you are satisfied.

MCP655 can be run at 1 for silence or 5 for performance. From my experiences, 1 is pretty much inaudible in an enclosed P180. 5 introduces a woosh of white noise. If you go with the MCP655, it'll be much easier to place and decouple than a giant 1048. If you're getting an XQ6700 only to aim for 2.9G...

If you have a local surplus store, you can look for an old Pentium 1 heatsink and fan combo and run it at 5V. Tiny drops of superglue works well to hold it in place.

I did this for a number of cards and was even able to put on a mild overclock.

I just switched from a Raptor 150 GB to a WD Scorpio 160 GB, both suspended with 1.8mm stretch magic. HUGE difference... no more nasty seek noises, and when I do get them, it's very muted from a suspended WD 5000AAKS. Difference in performance is noticeable on boot times, but I'm hoping that Vista w...

Gigabyte P35 board uses about 10W or so less than the Asus P5K Deluxe.
I use the P5K Deluxe and the amount of heat this motherboard is dumping is incredible.

Is it the woosh noise that you're bothered about? Try undervolting it a bit, or changing the top with an Alphacool or Petra top. The added mass seems to dampen the sound a bit.

Perhaps not as much detail as what you'd like regarding minimum voltages, but you can see how fast people are pushing their chips.

They are pivoted Dell 2007FP 20" non-widescreen monitors. I've replaced the X1900XT with an 8800 GTS 320 MB for now, still air cooled. The Radeon developed a strange intermittent flickering problem and I scored a good deal on the Geforce. I will be moving this system into a MountainMods Twice7 case....

When I stressed it (Orthos Small FFT) for 10 hours at 8x333 1.30Vcore BIOS it ran at 65C CoreTemp 0.95. I'm assuming it's going to be lower than that :) i'm thinking if i should get thermal...

Northbridge is totally holding that setup back. I swapped in the motherboard and CPU, however a few things: The supplied IDE cable is JUST long enough for an Antec SOLO and the two upper drive bays. It's quite taut so I'm going to go out and get a longer cable. Once I put in a 7600GT w/VM-101, I was...

Looks like I was lucky when I did a quick test. EDIT 2: The NB gets really hot, to the point where the on...
