If you're considering the Acousticase, you might care to take a look at the Compucase CA19. It's exactly the same box, but without the acoustic foam, and it only costs £35 including VAT from www.xcase.co.uk. You could always add an aftermarket Acoustipack later if you felt it was necessary. This is ...

Hmm, some interesting details but, overall, what a poor review...no mention of airflow, component temperatures, let alone acoustic properties... The one thing I did like about the roundup was that they tested with four hard drives in each case. Maybe this is something that SPCR could look at...after...

I've googled a bit and found some more info here if anyone's interested (sorry it's in German). Looks like the PSU is indeed intended to suck air through the drive cage....how effective that would be is anyone's guess... Edit: It has BTX support, seemingly... :D Edit2: No it doesn't...just another "...

There's a thread about it here.

its the quiet edition and looks cooler! That, my dear sir, is very much a matter of opinion... Besides, I don't think the BQE has enough 3.5in drive bays, and I fancy cooling the HDD's could be a bit of a problem also. @GM: I'm interested that a 300W PSU was enough for your previous 5 HDD's....

I've just taken delivery of an Antec SLK3700AMB based on what I've read in these forums, and I'm delighted with it. It's a very nice case indeed, and an absolute bargain for the money I paid for it. I'm not sure how well the bundled PSU would cope with the reactive load presented by six or more HDD'...

Yep, it definitely seems to be grey from these photos, but with a kind of subtle "tinge" to it which sort of defies description...quite classy really. I guess the only way I'll really find out is to order it. I've seen it advertised in the UK for 49GBP, which seems darned good value considering it c...

It seems to be on there pretty solid....the clips are on tight. As for the psu, I thought about cutting those slats off all together. OMG, this sort of thing just makes me cringe.... *sigh* I'd really like to get one of these cases for my next project, but I still don't really know what colour the dratted thing is. Apart from the left-hand picture in Ralf's review , they all seem to display a horrible shade of purple, even on Antec's own site. I know Ralf has said that all the e...

Not sure if it is worth waiting for; I suppose one clear advantage will be the elimination of the umpteen updates that have to be downloaded for WinXP installs currently. I know that on slower connections, this would take forever. I am on broadband, and even so, spend typically the better part of a...

Like I said it's to keep PSU under minimal loads. I've heard MikeC note in several reviews how PSUs start to ramp up in fan speed once one hits between 40-60% of rated power depending on model. I think this 600W will provide very good head room and may run more silent. Besides it's ony a few bucks ...

Hi Coldflame :) I agree with you that "seamless" storage space is an attractive concept, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Longhorn implements this. AFAIK, however, it doesn't necessarily mean being restricted to a single physical partition...I imagine it will be more like a powerful database-dr...

Compucase CI-6920 - any info please?
Hi guys, After a bit of lurking around here, I've decided to put together a system based on one of the Compucase LX-6A19 clones, as this seems a well thought-out design while still being reasonably priced. The trouble is, though, most of them seem a bit, well...plain?... or maybe "butt-ugly" is actu...

You can already do this in WinXP. If your right-click on the "My Documents" desktop icon, the go to "Properties" you can change the location of your "My Docs" folder to any path you like. I put mine on my "D" partition. Yep, this works in Win2K as well...very simple, no need to bother with TweakUI ...

I like your setup, nick705! Mine is similar, with the only difference being that my swapfile is on a separate partition from the OS, which keeps it from getting fragmented.
