What is the quietest CDR/CDRW drive?
I'm currently interested in the CRW-5232A3, but I've seen 1 brief customer review saying that it isn't that quiet.
Anyone got an idea about what the quietest optical drive of this type (CDRW or even just CDR) is?

Potential for quiet performance - Nvidia 7800GT
Hey. What are people's opinions about the potential for the 7800GT to be a quiet card when used with the right cooling. Does the Zalman VF-700Cu fit? Is the Arctic Cooling Silencer NV 5 Rev. 3 a good cooler? (I know it isn't really out yet except on Asus cards, but how was the predecessor, the Rev. ...

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?p=225235#post225235 I've been told that the Phantom 500W PSU is not suitable for the latest DFI motherboards if you plan to use SLI, and the recommendation was hardly glowing even if you don't. I'm ...

Yeah...but reading your thread it might be that you have a dodgey individual HDD (my 74GB Raptor died, but I wouldn't expect all to die in less than a week). If you got your hands on a 2nd one and said it sounded the same, then I'd begin to doubt more, but your experience seems contrary to what most...

I just spole to Samsung Australia, and apparently they make even the newer hard drives with both Nidec and JVC motors. So I guess it means that I'm going to have to have to confirm this detail with the retailer I purchase from when I buy the HDD. Anyone got comments on the Spinpoint 2504C HDD, and w...

Are all Samsung 200/250GB SATA HDD's Nidec motor HDD's?
Pretty simple question. If anyone has a JVC motor Samsung 250GB SATA HDD then obviously not. Do people agree that they are the quietest 250GB SATA HDD available? Also, are they the quietest 250GB SATA HDD while IDLE? EDIT: Currently I'm using a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB HDD. I will actually be usin...

If you're thinking SLI or Crossfire, or overclocking (or DFI Nforce 4 motherboards), then I'd get the 500W version. From my understanding, the issue isn't really using more than 430W or more than 500W, but the stability at which the 150-300W which is used, is actually supplied. Higher rated PSU's, g...

Antec Phantom 500W - PFC (EU/AUS) version. Is this noisier?
I've been thinking about the SPCR review of the Phantom 500W PSU, and it mentioned that the US version they tested didn't have PFC (and had efficiencies of up to 90%) while the EU/AUS version would have PFC and would be arround 4% less efficient. Does anyone know if the loss of efficiency on the PFC...

Yeah. I wanted to start a new thread to see if there were long term problems like the one you described. It's just that with my 2 noisy Nexus 120 mm fans, I don't think it's worth the risk to get more from the US. (Silentblades are about a third of the price). Can anyone who has had experience with ...

I'd prefer getting the 500W. But that's because I've used a few system power calculators, and pushed them to the maximim on what I would consider doing (in terms of upgrades) and I often get near a recommended PSU wattage of arround 450. So just for a bit of futureproofing (and 500 is such a round n...

Where can I download SmartGuardian? I'm already using the lower PCIe port because my Thermalright XP120 is blocking the higher port. As for the NB47J, I'll probably have to bend fins anyway to fit between the XP120 and my X800XL with an Arctic Cooling Silencer. Atm, my wiring is very cluttered, but ...
