Re: would it be usefull to add 120mm fan under laptop
The fan is rarely the (main) problem. Dust in the cooling surfaces of the heatsink is, as well as build-up of dust preventing the airflow between the fins. Use whatever means is most practical to you: Blow with your mouth, use a cotton cloth, sweep with your finger, ... You can even use a vacuum cle...

Re: would it be usefull to add 120mm fan under laptop
Blowing into the ventilation holes is a bad idea for a couple of reasons: 1. If you blow lightly it won't be efficient in removing the dust. 2. If you blow hard (using compressed air or similar) a couple of problems can occur: a) The airstream "miss" the cooler (if it's not in line with the venting ...

Re: How can I get discontinued parts for Corsair case? Any fabricators out there?
If the main problem is that they break I'd consider using some alternative, more sturdy, hinges.
I have no idea what the case looks like and where/how to mount a pair of regular hinges instead.

Let me try to put this straight: From a safety and stability point of view... * YOUR CURRENT PSU IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS . * A NEW PSU IS NOT BETTER (but possibly a little bit more efficient). You have a known good PSU and consider replacing it with one that might come with a manufacturing flaw. The o...

Re: is it worth it to buy overclockable ram ?
I agree with Abula. "Overclocking" is defined as any clock setting above what the RAM will run at by default (typically 1,333 MHz). The Ryzen 5 3600 officially support 3,200 MHz so that's the minimum you should go for. Faster RAM doesn't provide much increase in performance. 2x8 GB of 3,200 MHz can ...

First thing to do should be to open the laptop and blow the heatsinks clean from dust. That could do a lot to help you.

Re: air flow suggestion for p183 and 3 120 mm fan
This to some extent boils down to what graphics card you have. Does it generate a lot of heat? Is its cooler a blower type or does it just dump all heat inside the case? You want a P12 at the upper front intake, running at medium to high speed, and a flex at the rear running at minimum speed. If you...

Possible? Of course it's possible , but is it probable ? Not really, unless you've created a short circuit! Have you? A destroyed protection should likely end up blocking the power on that line so you get no output in normal use. It could be that it instead is shorted, and won't cut the power if you...

You do not need to worry at all. Just keep using what you have until you feel an urge (and can afford) to replace it with something substantially better.

Re: Question about tempered glass
I'd be surprised if all tempered glass is the same, but I see no reason why a panel intended for a railing shouldn't work as a floor cover, provided the floor underneath isn't too soft. A railing panel should be made to survive mechanical stress such as hard winds as well as some kicking and beating...

Would a good exhaust fan have different characteristics from an intake fan? Yes, but exactly what characteristics you want from the exhaust fan depends on the total setup. * If the exhaust fan is to provide all airflow, with no intake fans present, then it should be (relatively) high flow. * If you...

IMO you should not buy a new PSU "just because". The only reason I can think of for you to buy a new PSU is that you also buy a new computer case where a CPX PSU won't fit. If you buy a new PSU anyway, then don't go for that severely overkill! Just get one rated for 500-600W. That should save you so...

Provided that the PSU puts out "dirty" power or voltages severely out of specs then it can harm the other components.

I'd keep the PSU, case and optical reader. (It's the same that I actually have!) Get new motherboard (B450 or B550 based, see below), 2x8 GB 3,200 MHz RAM, 1 TB SATA SSD. I've got that PSU. It's very overkill in its design (with components better suited for a 1,500 W PSU) so unless the fan is broken (which you can easily replace) there should be no problems.

8 GB can be limiting for example when having several browser tabs open and/or multitasking.
If you're editing video or high resolution RAW pictures more RAM is also desired.
16 GB is usually sufficient.
