Scythe is like Bose, they are most impressed with themselves. I've had better results with Scythe than I have with any other brand... I got rid of a TRUE for a Ninja2 and I'm happier with the Scythe. As for the Ninja VGA cooler... DAMN it's huge. I've been perfectly happy with my AC S1, but that sm...

Got the HDD mounted. It was a PITA, but it is SILENT! I will use some dense foam around it as it seems to help with my NSK2480. http://hosting.superhighoutput.com/yamahasho/Computers/SGO2/img_8288.jpg http://hosting.superhighoutput.com/yamahasho/Computers/SGO2/img_8289.jpg http://hosting.superhighou...

Are there any other intakes other than at the back? The intakes are really on the sides and the top. Did you cut out the vent for the CPU HS yourself? Yes, it was the only way I could fit the cooler. If the VRM's were just a tiny bit shorter, it would have fit so much nicers.... Here was my test fi...

Yet another HTPC build (for my dad this time) Silverstone SG
I upgraded the motherboard, CPU and RAM on my NSK2480, so I had some spare parts to offer my dad for a HTPC he's been wanting me to build. The cost of the entire project is going to cost him under $250, but he doesn't know that I'm adding some things that I told him I had laying around :) The specs ...

I ordered 3 of the Noctua NF-R8 fans yesterday. Please let us know how this works out for you. I am going to build an HTPC for my dad with the SG02 and I just ordered 3 of the NF-R8 fans as well. For the two fans over the expansion card area, I may have one pointing in for fresh air and the other o...

You use the bracket that comes with the Ninja2 and take the screws, e-clips and back plate from the Xigmatek kit. Take the plastic push pins off of the Scythe bracket and insert the screws and clip on the e-clips so they'll stay put for installation. Then just install like any bolt-thru using the wr...

Well, considering I never said it would offer a huge improvment, what are you arguing??? The reason why this continued was because you made another post: sorry but no, not necessarily. the reason for this is not complex if not intuitive. unfortunately you are sharing with us a very simple perspectiv...

how did you use a screwdriver there? there is no space for it Crossbow ACK-I7751 came with a little wrench for tightening those screws. ;) http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/3383/014ia9.jpg Yep, no screw driver needed. It takes longer, but I didn't have to fight the heatsink moving like I thought I...

Care to enlighten us? no, I do not care to hold an impromptu lesson on thermodynamic systems. ask your systems professor. Really? Wow. I even gave you enough time to Google it. Seriously... If you can't back it up.... There's not much reason to be on a forum. You can't contribute anything and then ...

Ummm... Care to enligh...

My recommendation would be the Scythe Ninja 2 with a bolt-thru kit. I've had really good luck with these (currently running two Ninja2's and one Minja) as they cool well and are quiet. Back when I had a lapped TRUE, I had to have a noisy fan to produce the same results. I am about to replace my E450...

I have a similar system (intel E4300, asus p5kpl-cm, arctic cooling gt7) and i was wondering for the duct, that material did you use and did you end up taking out the case fan? As well what stress test did you use to get the fan rpms etc. The duct is just made out of card board with aluminum tape. ...

Right, and as I've already stated... The heat pipes are already mounted in a block. They will conduct as normal. A larger block with fins isn't going to hurt what the heat pipes are doing. It's not going to hurt, in fact it will help for managing heat. The heat will be pulled from the CPU. The resi...
