Another vote for the Minja here! My NB runs hot to the touch, but no issues in the last year. The cooling in this case is very good. I don't think the NB will be a problem. My E4500 runs bout 29C - 31C during normal operation. Stress test shows up at about 40C http://hosting.superhighoutput.com/yama...

Stay away from the X-fi, it blows. I've got on in my HTPC as I needed a PCIe card and I hate it. It pops, distorts sound constantly and is just not a good card. When I run some CAT6 through the walls when I finish my basement, I will be able to free up a PCI slot from my wireless adapter and will pr...

I'm going to get a second 360 when the Jaspers become more available. Since I've already got a spare 120GB HDD, $200 for an Arcade isn't a bad deal I'm thinking about getting a Jasper myself some time next year. I've read, though, that they will have the same DVD drive as the Falcons, so that part ...

Well, my silent modding tendencies got to me and I just placed an order for the XB01 :) I haven't decided if I'll use the stock fan or one of my spare SlipStreams. I'll post pictures when I'm done. This will be used for Zephyer MOBO that I've had for over year with no RROD yet . I do think Lian Li c...

Nothing like holding in some heat from the Dynamat!

Although, I'm intrigued by the Lian Li case. I think I might get one!

EDIT: After looking at the XB01 a little more, although it looks nice and does the trick, it seems they could have done much better with the implementation and fit.

I used to run a 3.4E (socket 478) on my old setup a few years ago. I ran it at 3.67 Ghz and while it did run hot, it seemed fine. I could have used a better cooler as I was using an older top-down Thermalright, but my case back then wasn't that great. Personally, with today's software/games/etc, I d...

I use the TR 775 kit regularly with Zipang coolers. These are a huge PIA to install with this kit, but the results are entirely worth the effort. The kit is very well made. If the screws had hex heads as well as Phillips, they would be perfect. Which is the very reason I know use the Xigmatek ;)

The Xigmatek bolt-thru kit can be used where other heat sinks would cover the screw from being able to use a scredriver (IE: Ninja 2).

Nice, I have the same case and motherboard! The NB temps are erroneous... There is a big thread on AVS forum talking about it. I did what some are suggesting by mounting the HDD in the lower 5.25" compartment. I was able to do this by cutting holes for hiding the cables. I don't know why Antec doesn...

Hmm... I'm really happy with the Thermalright bolt-thru kit on my Minja and the Xigmatek bolt-thru on my Ninja 2. If I needed another, I would probably still go for one of the two I'm using above as opposed to the Scythe setup.

I compared it to the Minja I have and it looks the same. The overall area is larger as the width/depth of the cooler is slightly larger. Counting all my computers, I have 5 SlipStreams (4x 1,200 RPM & 1x 1,000 RPM) and they all have a very minor click when undervolting. I can only hear them when I put my ear behind the computer and listen for it.

Xigmatek Crossbow bolts can be used With Ninja 2. The screws heads are hexagonal and the tools needed for assembly are included in the package. Good find! Do you know if the bolts are the same length as the Thermalright bolts? I would like to use the mount that comes with the Ninja with these bolts.

I'd be curious to know what your CPU temps are like. Idle vs load and such. also what intake fans if any are you using? I am too. When I ran my Ninja 2 without a fan on an AMD 8450 Phenom x3, it wouldn't keep the processor very cool while stress testing it. It took a while to get there, but I final...

I hardly think the Minja is something to worry about... Even the full size Ninja and Ninja 2 aren't too bad as most of the real weight is in the base.

Back when I had a TRUE, I did fabricate a bracket as all the weight is further out from the board (~2lbs!).

Modded P182 is probably your choice but for HTPC its alwfully big... 8800 GT and 9800 GT are not really HTPC cards. If you want to go nVidia way, you should probbaly check 9600 GT. 8800 Gt and 9800 GT are pure gaming cards. I disagree. The 8800 makes a great HTPC card. It was the first of the 8800 ...

I ran a Panaflo fan on a fan controller. It wasn't quiet when running 100%, but it would cool better than the Yate Loon I had before. I considered running a push:pull setup with it as I had two of these fans, but then sold the TRUE in favor of a more quiet HSF setup.
