Re: Mod
If the original fan is 32CFM, the difference shouldn't be that big and since the 460W model has components designed for more heat I think it would run fine. Has anyone done a similar mod for the 300/400W model? FYI, the difference between 24 and 32cfm is 7 db according to panasonic's specs, and the...

No reving up and down like others have complained about particu...

Hey guys, Here is what I did: I had a spare panaflo tail lying around (2 wires and a 2 pin tail) so I just soldered the wires together after I cut them on the FBK and covered the soldered parts with electrical tape. Works like a charm, just match red to red and blue to blue. I suppose it really depe...

My Review: Panaflo FBK-12G12LH
I tried the panaflo (ball bearing model with blue center and unusual blades) and it is a bit quieter than the hydrowave model. However, I found the JMC fan I have (from directron.com) to be slightly quieter than it, although the panaflo sounded smoother (like a smooth low "hummm")wheras the JMC has ...

both SVC and jab-tech.com have the 7000 alcu for $32 + ~$5 shipping. Jab-tech has better resellerratings but SVC is not far behind. SVC is in CA and jab-tech is in newyork, so take your pick to avoid tax. (For example, I am in CA so I would order from jab-tech.com to avoid tax that SVC would charge ...

I do recall that Ahanix makes a really good case fan, the one used in the silenx 14db psu, which mike commented sounded very smooth, PERHAPS smoother than the panaflo! nice! Don't know anything about their cases though. IMO front bezel design is KEY, I think a front bezel with good airflow and downw...

Are there any good nforce2 chipset based motherboard out there that can undervolt to 1.1vcore and at least up to 1.85? Yes, connecting up a fan VIA 5volt should be no problem at all. I have several fans in my system right now that are being run at 5volt since it tends to be the quietest. I have run fans at 7v as well (infact, one fan in my system is a 7v Panaflo 80mm L for my cpu cooler) and never had a problem, but...

EAR Fan Mount - Where to buy? (I lost link.. Mcsomething..)
Hi,
I remember reading somewhere on this forum about the EAR fan isolation mounts being available at some website I can't recall. Can someone point me there? I'd appreciate it, as well as which ones are for 120x38mm and which are for the 80x25mm.
Thanks,
-Ken

As I recall, the Samsung P80 series has a whine that MAY BE LESS THAN THE LEGENDARY CUDA IV (haha, how dramatic). Point being, could be a defective one. According to MikeC's review IIRC, the samsung has if anything, a LACK of high frequency whine, and most of the forum members here give the samsung ...

Super Tornado in case with PSU compartment?
Hi, I have a case with its own PSU compartment, which basically means there is no gap underneath the PSU once it is mounted, it sits on solid steel. This is the main reason I have leaned towards the super silencer this entire time. I was just curious if anyone had any opinions as to if a super torna...

I wanted to ask about this as well, what are the official temps of each wattage model before they ramp up? I remember hearing the 400w was quieter for more load than the 300w because of this very reason, that the ramping cutoff is higher on the higher wattage models. I've wanted a super silencer for...

My OPINION is that ram is better off with it than without it, but the benefits are small. I think its 95% for the looks, perhaps protects the hardware a bit from ESD maybe and a bit of physical damage protection, but I do not believe it lowers temps noticably. These are opinions, I have not run test...
