Though I have no interest to buy this psu (I'm a seasonic guy), I was a bit suprised and dissapointed nonetheless that I did not find the usual picture showing the length of the cables next to the ruler like most other psu reviews at SPCR. As it is repeatedly mentioned the cables are short in this r...

Oh man perplex, if you can't hear a CRT's buzzing you are DEAF!! Ok ok just kidding but man I haven't found a CRT in my life that is silent or even close. I have a Sony F500R so low quality is not the reason (drool FW900!!). Admittedly my definition of quiet is one of the lowest noise levels out of ...

I do know that the radeon 9000 runs very cool. I have a 9000pro and I just unplug the stock fan. No additional cooling on the sink either. I don't do anything to stress it though, and after a while it is pretty warm. I think just unplugging the stock fan and getting some air on it can be a very quic...

forgive me if I missed the answer but I know in this thread people complained about the gaping hole from which sound can escape; the top spoiler/blowhole. However, to me it looks like this can actually be a mesh/clear sealed top with the air exiting the rear of the spoiler thing. Anyone know for sur...

The easiest way of course is to just cut the wires and solder a new 2 pin (or 3 pin minus the RPM sensing wire) to the wires, thus using the same end connector but new fan. I've done this with an enermax PSU and it worked perfect. Just put electrical tape around the soldered portion. Skimmed the thr...

Ouch...thats some scary specs! I started on the right track right from the beginning; I got pushed over the edge with 2x 120mm panaflo L1A's @ 12v and a stock old enermax dual fan. Back then, cases with stock 120mm fans were quite rare, but mine had 3 openings for them STOCK. I paid $180 for the cas...

There are obvious advantages to each. People with cases in which the 120mm fan will be blocked like mine can go for the more traditional one 80mm exhause of the Super Silencer. People who want to make a fresh air duct for their PSU would probably choose the SS, but ppl who want a lower stock noise l...

They will fit BUT make sure they use the clip system to mount and not the bolt through the motherboard method. Use your best judgement on clearance vs size of the heatsink. IIRC S370 mobos don't have mounting holes. I'd personally recommend heatsinks supporting 80mm fans but arn't too large or heavy...

well availability of the yate loons is the killer, and you can always buy nexus, but then the killer becomes price. Panaflo is still the reference for 80mm, although not the top recommendation;).

Quiet PS2? Thin or old?

Hey I wasn't sure where to post this but finding a post about Xbox made me think this area was appropriate enough. I'm in the market for a new PS2, and was wondering which would be a wiser choice from a noise standpoint: The new thin PS2? The old PS2 with the 60mm fan? The old PS2 as I understand it...

might want to put that fan as the intake, you MIGHT get better temps and definately less dust in the case. On the otherhand, you might also get more noise since the fan is now closer to the ear, so you may want to experiment.

I think upgrading your cpu cooler may help you out a lot, I suggest the Zalman 7000 Alcu for example. It should cool significantly better than the flower cooler for just around $30 with a fan and fan controller included. At 5v on the included fanmate the 7000 AlCu is decently quiet. Just make sure y...

Do the mod in the bathroom after you run the hot shower for 10- maybe 15 mins. The steam in air tends to gather all the particles in the air and makes it settle, so IIRC run the shower for 10 mins hot, then let the steam settle, then do the mod leaving the inside of the hdd exposed for a little time...

I third against thermaltake, bad quality and lies. If it is not a proven product (such as the silent boost, which IS DECENT (but ripped off thermalright)) I simply would not give them a chance.
