There is something if enabled the new C4E state supported by the new E5200 saves 5W compared to the 1.2Ghz 1.1VID, and 7W compared to the 3.6Ghz 1.25VID, it lowers to 0.9VID and probably disables the L2 in idle with E8400. this causes degrading performance and loss of responsiveness in some software...

Of all the surviving the i7 860 experience boards, there is only a slight difference in idle, load and overclock.

With 5850 instead of 4890, your PC's power usage will be 40 watts lower.

Like the DVID found on P55 GB boards http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/1701/p55vcoredynk.jpg my EP45-DS3 board doesn't support offset, but overclocking on default voltage keeps C1/C2/C4 states operating and voltage idles at 0.85(0.9VID) same as nehalem. 3800 @ 1.15 Load, Idle 2400 @ 0.85V It is only ...

dynamic phase switching doesn't make a difference. for example on a P45 gigabyte board we have these possibilities(2 or 6 phases on 15 watts) (3, 4 or 6 on 30 watts) (4, 5 or 6 on 45 watts) (5 or 6 on 60 watts) that is when the active phases number changes at 15, 30, 45 and 60 watts. the system powe...

.....e5200 indicates how much amperes is drawing, so a program like Everest can tell you an accurate instant power consumption value ......? the motherboard has vrm regulator that indicates amperes with the vrm efficiency included, so the actual cpu power usage is some 10-20-30% less and nobody kno...

It probalby has something to do with low vrm efficiency partially, there are 3 vrm phases, each one of them having 2 mosfets, compared to the traditional 3 mosfet design, and also g31 runs hotter than the 965. some asus boards are reported to be more power hungry than competitive products from other...

no mofset cooling needed, my e8400 is clocked at 3.6Ghz, and never above 25 watts in games or any sftoware that i tried, it is safely to assume - q9650 is double that, around 50watts maximum, but it is likely to be less, because of poor or lack of multicore game optimisations so i have also stressed...

scroll up, +175W / +900rpm, +225W / +925rpm it is ~1/2 450 so it is expected to ramp up. it happends exactly as they show.
with the 8800gt, impossible to pull more than 170W Dc, perhaps this nforce mbd is not energy efficient

using "Energy check 3000" at the wall the numbers are: the vrm efficiency is so weird, because it is cpu efficiency, given that 3200Mhz overclocked raises the fsb bandwidth consumption related chipset and memory too. and that results visibly even better efficiency, how about that. http://img4.images...
