yes, a single blade in a spiral! much better description. Though I was expecting a much wider frame than 38mm. though if the diameter stays the same but the pitch of the spiral increases (to accelerate the air) then I think there would be a pressure difference that would hinder the effect...hence th...

Possible new design of fan?

I had an idea for a new type of fan a while back and I thought I'd try to share the idea to see if: 1. It's already been done (30% of my ideas fall into this category  ) 2. It's a harder, more expensive, less efficient way of doing it (50% ) 3. You just give me a funny look and then carr...

am running mine at 60c via speedfan right now (runs at 50c with 100% fans). It might shorten the life of the cpu by 20% but I still think I'll have moved on to a newer chip before it cooks.

Aris, was reading your OC post. Was the anandtech test just talking about quad cores? Also, you started your post saying it didn't go as well as expected, but didnt mention which goals you didnt acheive. On a side note, a guy from OCZ recommended me not using SPD or EPP profiles with my Asus striker...

Parasitic loads include your TV (instant on - keeps picture tube warm), your Stereo (no tubes, why does it need standby power?) all the damn digital clocks in your house (I prefer windup as power is unreliable during winter), VCR's, Cable Boxes and a whole rash of other stuff. am running OCZ 8500 atm. Interestingly....letting the Asus Striker mobo run them at EPP profiles is what killed the first pair (and maybe the 2nd), so maybe setting them up manually does indeed solve alot of problems :-)
