bit of an update..
As i thought the PSU could still be quieter/cooler, i started thinking about how i could improve it. I first intended to take off the part of the psu case which held the fan, and then re-mount the remaining PSU, putting the fan onto the case hole and ducting it. Then i saw (and remembered) this; htt...

passive.. do u want completely passive ie no fans atall? or.. just no cpu fan? music.. mp3s? aac? flac?? mp3s should be fine on any p1; i think AAC will need >150mhz. flac i don't know, but considerably more i'd imagine. The problem with a P1 i'd guess would be finding a microATX one? as many P1s we...

interesting that they also have a new 60W version.. whilst the fact its only 60W is a bit rubbish; the fact that it can take any input from 6V-26V is very nice, if ur in the unusual situation to only need 60W..

hm. the fact that it has a hot processor pretty much makes it useless.. if it was cool/low power then it could work as a fanless print server, or mp3 player.. funny how we've only just reached the point at which pretty much every connector that thing has is obselete (a couple arguably). even fundame...

i agree with DanW (and all before), since most people who have ninjas seem to run it semi-passively. judging from the results, the ninja is likely to perform better, but thats not conclusive, and by how much is likely to be important to some people; as the thermalright is clearly better at high air ...

WTF... you have your HDD sitting on top of your PCI cards?? Look at all that space at the front... this is a prime candidate for an Alleycat HDD Enclosureâ„¢ if there ever was one! "The only cases i have found which are shallow seem to be MiniITX cases or slimline MicroATX cases where the PCI cards wont fit. Wow, is that one with no graphics slot going to be sold in retail? that would have to be *damn* cheap.. but i'm sure theres demand for in office machines etc. from what i read about this basically its all the 410 type features and nothing from the higher 430.. so, it seems a bit of a step backwards ...

i should think the PSU could be silenced pretty well.. all i had to do with my fsp (which is less efficient) was get it a fresh supply of air and connect the fan cable to my mobos adjustable fan speed header and set it just above starting speed.. inaudible from more than a foot away, cool, and haven...

why do you want an integrated graphics and then replace it with a low end graphics card for non gaming purposes? i agree.. i'm not sure weather your suggesting getting a dedicated solution (w no integrated gfx), or an IGP.. Vista demands a DirectX 9 compatible Graphics card with at least 128MB RAM....

What do people think about radical copyright reform? gotta stick up for the inq too, they get far too much flack IMO.. gpu on a cpu does seem weird to me.. will we get better GPUs on better cpus? imo that would hurt the budget OCer and the guy with the faster cpu will very likely have a dedicated card.. it seems like this deal is really going to hurt ...
