no logic in our greed based two party system run corpacracy
I like the Socratic in asking why again (it gets to truth if it doesn't drive the other person mad first).

But yea, I'm no fan of the corpacracy, or of Bush (the village idiot), or of Obama, etc. I'm sure there's something I like...

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one" Based on the premise that all individuals are equal, but what's that based on? The needs of Obama outweigh the needs of the peasants. The needs of Wall Street outweigh the needs of main street. - Two truths: Power isn't evenly distrib...

Re: Modern Phrases That Confuse Me

2. More complete! - Ah yes, of course. I used to think of "complete" like being pregnant. You either are or you are not. There is no "little bit pregnant." I could continue, but some might think my long windedness might be more complete, and we can't have that. More perfect. A woman is either perfe...

Beautiful. Good to see an i7 can be tamed.

If the PSU fan is the noisiest, maybe an 80mm model would be better - seems like what MikeC would recommend anyway. Danimal's got a good suggestion too.

New Comps and 12GB of RAM?

Browsing newegg today looking at all the gadgets I shouldn't buy, I was surprised to see people speaking of their "12GB of RAM" systems. And the latest performance mobos accept up to 24GB.

Isn't this overkill? I'm sure there are uses for it, but the hype seems like such a waste for most users...

Hello Trip, How would deporting people help? They are going to "need" as much power in some other place. If we can do this, we will go a very long way to solving the economic problems, AND the war problems, AND the environmental problems -- with a single solution, we can alleviate (at least) three ...

We could go green if we deported 2/3 of the population... It's not reasonable to go Green in the US within 10 years, we're too large, diverse, and poor. BF,

it probably is a deterrent, but society isn't a controlled experiment. So, there are other factors driving up the murder rate.
