Re: Antec 300 - Did some work for my brother in law
I also got the 300 it's nice case but the WD Blacks are the loudest harddrives that exist it's likely causing lot viberation noise. I went with Samsung hard drive for my build and don't see much viberation.

Re: Athlon II X4 645 cooler advice please.
Thermalmight HR-02 Macho is going to be best choice over all it's going destory everything. Due to it's wide fin spacing it will out perform everything when paired with low RPM fans(500-800 RPM)/passive cooling since that is what it was designed for. The Thermalmight Ultra 120 Extreme and the Cooler...

Another disppointment from Antec they ripped the design of the Haf 912/ Define R3 added noise damping and twice the price. No thanks Antec I'll stick to the Define R3 or Haf 912 at lower price.

Re: Noctua NF-S12B FLX 1,200 RPM VS Scythe SFF21E 1,200 RPM
NH-P12 is a really good fan for CPU coolers. Use the resistor cable that comes with the fan to lower ts speed. If you already own this fan it would be a shame not to use it, more so if you need to spend money on a new fan. If you must have a Scythe fan you can get a Slipstream 1200 or 800RPM. The 1...

Re: Modding ASUS GTX 580 DCUII - 92mm or 120mm fans?
I would probably go with 120mm, there are more options of fans out there than on 92mm. They should also give your better airflow at lower rpm, but depends on the fans. Just wondering how are you going to mount the fans? are you going to mount them in another pci slot with a custom bracket? Are you ...

It's disappointing to me. I expected the PSU can be moved to the bottom. Majorly disappointed to expensive and not even close to the bang for the buck of the Define R3. The design is still obsolete for modern system. Maybe you have not understood the meaning of this case. IT IS still the best COMPA...

Black inside case is major pain in the ass because companies lack to clear coat it and it always scratches to hell. No idea why people are always asking conpanies to do this.Madmanden wrote:Very nice and clean build! If only the case was black on the inside as well.

Re: Noctua NF-S12B FLX 1,200 RPM VS Scythe SFF21E 1,200 RPM
Run the NF-S12B FLX only as a case fan. The NF-P12 is the one you should use on CPU coolers. Run it at the lowest speed and it will be fine. I don't want to toy with unvolting and stuff but according to what little information I could fine it's not going make much of difference but to my ears. Seem...

Noctua NF-S12B FLX 1,200 RPM VS Scythe SFF21E 1,200 RPM
Hello, Just curious I intend to run a single Noctua NF-S12B FLX 1,200 RPM on my Noctua NH-U12P SE2. I know the NF-S12B FLX is more suited for a heatsink with wide fin spacing but the included NH-P12 1,300 PRM fans are SPCR tested at 32dba are just to loud. I current run a TRUE and another Noctua NH-...

I just installed a Mugen 3 in an Antec P183 case on an I7 920 (Gigabyte GA-X58-UD5 MB). I had to get rid of the noisy stock Intel fan. I've put up with it way too long. I'm using the Mugen 3 with its stock fan and it's very quiet. From a foot away you can't hear it. My Samsung HDs and (now) top mou...

Never had this happend but I would've tryed to heat the HSF with hairdryer on low and it would of let go. I use this method when removing Northbridge heatsinks when there stuck on. Sorry,no idea on the damage my guess would be your SOLed and will have to replace the motherboard,CPU.

Re: Best PWM fan for CPU cooler?
Sooner or later the RPM is going spin up at some point. You'll end up dealing with the loud fans when you push the system personally it's why I avoid PWM and stick with stardard low noise fans.

Yeah I had the Slipstream in mind - but was thinking of trying a different brand. I have sooo many Scythe's here! Would a pair of Nexus PWM be worth trying? I would avoid the Nexus PWM with 2000 RPM max speed its going to be loud. Anything with RPM over 1300 is going to be over 30dba and not slient...

Scythe Slip Stream PWM 120MM SY1225SL12LM-P 200~1300RPM is likely your best slient choice for PWM fan.

Everyone actually does there are zero slient aftermarket coolers that will accept 120mm fan that are below 158mm in height. What do you call a Scythe Ninja then? Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
Tower coolers of 151mms that's huge problem and makes the case kind of useless. You might as well buy the HAF 912 and line it with noise damping it would be better value, case. Define R3 can be found for $78.00 CAD which makes it the best slient budget case.

Antec made Define XL and changed it bit and called it the P280. Define XL has it beat it uses 140mm fans instead 120mm and can handle more drives, sells for the same price or lower. I like the case but really nothing new here that would make me buy it over the Define R3,XL.
