Actually, I saw a pretty good suspension using elastic cord before. Whoever it was who sent Miyori their modded SLK3700-AMB did it... :P

Edit: Oh yeah, and it had little 1 cm or so chunks of foam separating it from the case itself.

I've got this in my SLK3700-BQE, and it works fine. Cheap as heck, fits in a 3.5" bay, doesn't have any LEDs, 3 good dials... Nice controller. :D

Whoa, nice! Best of both worlds, no? ;)

Any idea what it'll retail for? I'm assuming it'll be a bit cheaper than the AMB and BQE, since it doesn't have a power supply...

Edit: I second the proposal to name it the SLK3000-BQA. :P

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I bought the SLK3700-BQE over the Sonata. No ugly blue LEDs! Could I change it myself? Sure, but I'm too lazy for that. :P

D-Sub is the standard analog connector, what you usually see on CRTs and low-end LCDs. DVI-A is... well, fairly uncommon. Other than pin layout, I'm not sure what the differences are. Probably shielding, maximum length, etc. As for why there's an analog version... Actually, I'm not really sure. :)

That'd be my guess; it's easier to get rid of the heat, and it saves room in small cases. On the other hand, it's fairly low-power, so it won't work in any high-end systems.

Assuming it's the same as the stock cooler that came with my eVGA card, damned noisy. You'll want to stick something else on it as soon as you can. My NV Silencer 5 is pretty decent, but still the noisiest thing in my system by a large margin. I'll hopefully be switching to a passively cooler 6600 G...

I'd go with a decent Socket 939 motherboard (Socket 754 is being phased out), and an Athlon64 3000+ or higher, depending on how much you want to spend.

IIRC, the SP1614C is just the SP1614N with a SATA bridge on it. Wouldn't it be easier to just get the SP1614N? The only advantage I can see to using SATA is the cabling, but you could always use cablegami or something with PATA. Plus, this would reduce the number of points of failure, which is alway...

Anywho, the T5700's were basically just an example; I don't really know what I should get, since the only research I've done is for analog-only speakers, and that was a good 6 months ago.

Revolution 5.1 or Audigy2 ZS?

If I manage to get to build my new system, I'm going to need another sound card. Should I get a Revolution 5.1 or an Audigy2 ZS? Most of the sound-intensive load on the system is gaming, and the Revolution 5.1 appears to have somewhat high CPU usage. On the other hand, I've heard that the Revolution...
