shelt, in the picture, it looks like your NV Silencer 5 is hitting the drive bays. Am I right? I was thinking of using the Thermaltake fanless VGA cooler, but it looks like it may not fit...

I've got this in my SLK3700-BQE, and it works fine. Cheap as heck, fits in a 3.5" bay, doesn't have any LEDs, 3 good dials... Nice controller.

D-Sub is the standard analog connector, what you usually see on CRTs and low-end LCDs. DVI-A is... well, fairly uncommon. Other than pin layout, I'm not sure what the differences are. Probably shielding, maximum length, etc. As for why there's an analog version... Actually, I'm not really sure.

Assuming it's the same as the stock cooler that came with my eVGA card, damned noisy. You'll want to stick something else on it as soon as you can. My NV Silencer 5 is pretty decent, but still the noisiest thing in my system by a large margin. I'll hopefully be switching to a passively cooler 6600 G...

Socket 939 PCIe boards will be out quite soon; the Micro-ATX one I'm looking at is due out in late December.

I'd go with a decent Socket 939 motherboard (Socket 754 is being phased out), and an Athlon64 3000+ or higher, depending on how much you want to spend.

IIRC, the SP1614C is just the SP1614N with a SATA bridge on it. Wouldn't it be easier to just get the SP1614N?
