Re: TJ08-E, going for near silent

Notice here I've swapped the rubber feet for a stack of two felt pads used for furniture - makes the computer slide superbly when I want to move it around under my desk, did the same with the sub from my 2.1 speakers  Also bunched up all external cables neatly, and fitted the power strip and e...

TJ08-E, going for near silent

I moved my HW out from a much loved Antec P180 because i don’t think I’ll ever need ATX size motherboards anymore so then I could have a smaller case. I saw this new m-ATX case and fell in love - flipped MB – 180mm fan !! I bought it as soon as could get my hands on it (not much love for the fan tho...

Re: New DAW build for music production

If they will build you the system and install Windows with updates and drivers... you could pay 20euro and get the stock Intel cooler (almost same price as tray I think). Then you'd just have to order a CPU heatsink of choice and install it. *me, personally - I would much rather build the system my...

Re: Revolutionary Asus dynamic fan control?

No, I really think someone (...) should have done this a long time ago. While we've had fan headers and some degree of reporting and control through BIOS - there's always been waay too little control options and waay to many flaws (3pin only running on full and so on). The MB never had any idea what...

This news made me very happy. :D This could have been done several years ago, do you hear that you lazy MB designer bums! I see it mentioned that similar stuff has been done before, but this seems like a big step anyway - maybe UEFI plays a role? ..now hopefully the race begin to make this...

Re: Quiet (not silent) 120mm case fan with high static press

My experience with the Noctua rubber thingies is that you can just yank them off. Make sure you dont hit anything valuable inside your case when they let go. Then you can use them again. They might break, of course - you can try to use needlepliers carefully positioned to squeeze the rubber to help ...

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've seen JC's build, excellent - but for myself I hope to avoid much modding on the exterior of the case. I'll have to try to look into electrodacus experiences with two Pico's (I'll call them Pico just for conv.). Thanks Boost, for the link I will certainly look into th...

Mini-ITX build with Ivy bridge & Lian Li Q-11

I am going to build myself a mini-ITX machine now that Ivy Bridge chips are coming out. I've been dreaming of building something small for a long time now, and I'm itching for new hardware now after ca 2,5 years since my last purchase ;) I don't really need it for performance, got a slightly undervo...

Re: 120mm vs 140mm

I've also wondered about this, because while a few popular 140mm fans has mounting holes that fits a 120mm fanmount - still the actual hole it blows/sucks through is maybe/often/easily to narrow (not 140mm) and will cause turbulence & noise?? I then also think, is the circumference of the airflow st...

You can easily make a high performance mini-ITX these days - silencing it is another matter, though.

Very very thoroughly done and well planned, I'd say - I particularly like what you did with the 2,5" HDDs and the cage. Not to mention all the dampening. Have you tried any other 14 cm fans other than Noctua?...

When you decide to manually control your fans, you will ofc lose automatic fan control which r...
