It goes down when in idle automaticaly -- 1.0V from 1.15V when in 3D

Changed the stock fan, now the card is inaudible completely! (outside the case)
Silent gaming, at last! 8)

Re: Does Sapphire 5670 realy idle to ~8W, like 4670?

Idle clocks are 157/300Mhz. No gain here. Well, the voltage/frequency pair is pretty ballanced out-of-the-box. On default 1.15V maximum stable for GPU is 900Mhz, and 1150 for RAM.

No need to tweak anything.

The card is also very quiet. Nice choice among other 5670s.

Re: Does Sapphire 5670 realy idle to ~8W, like 4670?

Hm... 0.1V drop gives 1.5W economy in idle, and 10W economy under FurMark load. Btw, 12W idle has this card.

Re: Does Sapphire 5670 realy idle to ~8W, like 4670?

Made some downvolting workaround... Default GPU Vcore under load is 1.150V, then I decreased it to 0.900V -- boots, but gives artifacts in FurMark. I think preferable voltage for stock 775/1000MHz is somewhere near 1.050 or so... Let's see the effect on consumption of these 0.1V. I'll try to measure...

I don't know the relation between the sites, xbit is russian IIRC and both articles have the same author. :D Ha-ha! Well, the explanation is simple. Xbitlabs is just like a RussiaToday , a proKremlin TV-channel that works for West world only (and says only good things about Russia), so is the Xbitl...

Guys, does anybody know what do mean these signs on bricks? The higher Roman numeral is better?

Efficiency was fantastic on this FSP unit, hitting as high as 89%. The FSP earns a 10 here.
Oh yes, a 19V brick! Less current = less voltage drop on output rectifiers  A 12V brick hardly can be so efficient.

I'm using very cheap G31 board, and I'm happy with its performance running CPU at stock 2.8GHz + 4Gb RAM. Quick and chill system. Economy both for energy and money. Idle with 22W DC, with some deep undervolt. Still got no Kill-a-Watt so can't say AC wattage, but it should be ~30-35W.

As for me, I don't see the point in going for a Clarkdale sitting on the Wolfdale. My current system is 22W DC idle rated, and I don't know if a Clarkdale setup will be better in ...

What exactly is under the hot-cold pack? What is the impact of using the hot-cold pack: on temps and on sound? The gel inside the pack absorbs vibrations, thus doesn't allow moving parts to generate noise. It also has low temperature resistance coefficient, so the heat is transmitted to massive sur...
