I just tested the Cooler master ultra silent fan (720rpm) and it's really quiet. Some bearing noice only but i had the fan at less than an arms length from my ear and outside the case so it may not be an issue. It doesn't move much air at all. But compared to a Nexus at 5V it'll do the same job. Got...

Cheap and simple 120mm duct.
Don't know if it's common knowledge and/or completely useless. I just thought i'd mention it. A CD/DVD is 120mm in diameter right? And when buying spindles of 50-100 pcs, they come in a package that can perhaps be used as a duct for 120mm fans. A 100pcs spindle gives ~150mm long duct. Easy to cut as...

My original concept for the P180 PSU chamber was to use a straight-through 80mm conventional PSU.<snip> This answers some of my latest thoughts. :) But not all. Perhaps you can clear my mind regarding the PSU in the P180. 1. Many PSU use a 120mm fan for cooling. I haven't had a good look on how to ...

They are Globe. Too bad they're not more efficient.
A review in german. http://www.pc-experience.de/wbb2/thread ... adid=17392
They also review the Seasonic 600 and give them their gold award.
Damn those Seasonics.
Edit: Btw: the easycon series are similar to OCZ Modstream? Topower made?

[Daydreaming] Dual Reserators?
I reckon there are more like me who's constantly daydreaming about next configuration. Sane or insane configuration. I have this little thought on going water cooling that won't go away. It's like breaking new ground. And i just came up with a slighly insane thought on dual Reserators. :D And my que...

Re: S12-430 possible for SLI?
I know 2 companies that sells the S12 range. overclockers.se and kylning.com.noac wrote: Possible reply:
Why dont just buy the s12-500 and be done with it? - well only 1 company sells seasonic in sweden and the price diffrence is about $50 - thats why.

I see. It's a good idea, and people have had the idea before, but the main problem is the screw holes won't line up. How will you secure the psu in the case? Ahh, i have a Stacker case. So i have the option of having a PSU almost wherever i want. I'll probably get a PSU like the S12-430 and make th...

Like some help with a minor question.
I've been thinking a bit about heat transfer and warm air rising and stuff. What i'd like some help with is to see if a PSU with a 120mm fan is warmer with the fan up or down. Why i need help is because i don't have a PSU with rpm monitor connector. I know it's alot to ask but perhaps if anyone is i...

Cheap vibration dampening material.
I've been testing this for a while and it's great so far. Easy to work with. Iv'e been cutting it into small pieces and mounted the case fans with it. Zero vibrations and softer than other fan mounts i've used. What is it then? :o It's a pice of a floor scrape (mind the translation) for bathrooms :D...

Don't want to start a new topic, just keeping up in my own ;) I swapped fan again on my VF700. From a Nexus 80*25mm to a Panaflo 80T-H 80*15mm. At 7V it's as quiet, well, not audible anyway, but it cools 10°C!!! better! Now i don't have to worry about my GPU getting too hot. It's quieter than stock ...

But... are you saying your plastic backplate had 4 holes and didn't fit the heatsink at all? Actually, i had 6 holes. :) I'm no benchmarking guy so i don't know what applications to use, but i've understood that RTHDRIBL stresses the GPU. Search for it, it's free. :) And now i've glued on a 80*15mm...

Good to hear JonV! :) I can imagine the 65°C on your 7800GT since it's supposed to draw less power. But under extreme load as well?! Did you also notice that the manual shows 4 holes in the backside heatsink to bolt it onto the plastic backside base plate, but it's actually only 2 holes in t...

This is interesting. So you mean Frank that there's a pocket of warm air at the top of the case with PSU with a 120mm fan? Does it affect case temp that much? I'd thought air circulation would pass that area and it'd be static more or less. But this gave me an idea. :) Wouldn't it be possible to mak...

Are you talking about the ZM80D-HP? I mounted it fine on the 6800nu, I dont know how much different the layout is. I used the longer heatsink base on the core, the instructions said to use that one only for the older nVidia Ti cards, and to use the shorter one for any other card. But the shorter on...

Ok, i've just done some minor testing. First it was a poor fit. The holes on the new backside bracket were at least 1mm off center to the backside heatsink. More like 1.5 -2mm. Difficult to get the bolts tightened. I just had a Panaflo L1A running on 12V on it and ran RTHDRIBL. It immediately got up...

About if the mufflers and stuff will work ok i have no idea. Maybe that the case exhaust duct will supply warm air to the HDD intake duct. May not be an issue. I'm planning to make a similar test on my Stacker case. Having intake at the bottom rear and the normal case fan at the top rear. And at the...

NEW? Zalman Heatpipe Cooler for nVidia 6800/7800.
According to quietPC Zalman has a optional mounting block for ZM80D that fits on nVidia 6800/7800 series. Not to read about on Zalmans website though. At least i couldn't find anything.
I'll order one ASAP. Hope it'll be able to cool well enough.
