For extreme silence, buy a Noctua NH-D14 cooler and keep it fanless or with one fan in the middle. For insulation, try to find some AcustiPack or Nexus foam. If possible, keep the others cmponents fanless to. Look HERE . With D14 and only 2 Noctua fans@5v(500RPM) is very silent. Mental! Can you kee...

I have a P180 mini with a 600RPM Nexus. In my experience a real silent at 12v/1000RPM becomes a little louder when the door is opened (when my ear is at 30CM away from the fan [more than 30 cm you cant hear the difference]). At 600RPM noice difference is inaudible. Also, my temps went down for half ...

Holy fuck mate that looks well massive. Anyway, I still think it's pretty weird that a cooler like the Asus Silent Square Pro is not performing better. Well right now its at 42º idle, which is not bad I think, but its running at 70% Speedfan (1900RPM). Maybe I applied the thermal paste not correct...

Yup 6 cores, and i can reccomend you a Nvidia card because it has Cuda cores.buddhafest wrote:Thanks for the system suggestion.
A question regarding the suggestion to go with an AMD platform.
Is it something I should even consider if I plan on doing lots of work with After Effects and Premiere Pro work?

I'd guess get a decent tower cooler with 120mm fans (Scythe Ninja/Mugen, CM Hyper 212 (with a more silent fan), Xigmatek HDT-S1283). I have a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 which performs really well on my Q6600 (at 600RPM Prime95 it is only 52 degrees). Also your 3870x2 can be replaced by a 4850 (the 3870x2 co...

I'm just a little surprised you aren't using the watercooling cutouts from the case. I'd also put the 2x 120 rad between the CPU and GPU in the loop. Just me though, i'm not much for water cooling, PITA to move around, as my computer does travel at times. Second point. Water temp doesnt differ a lo...

That sure is a quiet looking system. I was wondering how loud the power supply is because i have a system which requires nearly the same amount of power (30w difference when i replace my GPU to a more powerful one). Is the fan off, on, how loud is it (looking for reference items. like audible within...

This is officially a case for micro ATX. Tough you can fit a ATX board in it by some modding ;) By matx cases u mean like lanboxes or so? Well, most of those cases wont fit big tower coolers, and huge gpu coolers (like accelero's, musashis setsugens etc etc). I didnt want that much restrictions so ...

K i gotta ask.. If your bringing this thing to lans, even only a few times a year..why didn't you go with a mATX form factor? Availability? Price? Beats me because you dont have a large array of HDD's to really use the size of a mid tower. Otherwise, build looks nice. I would seriously consider not...

Update: Nexus Real Silent on CPU heatsink & Fan controller installed So, sunday i did some work on my PC. Its pretty darn quiet now (inaudible at 5m distance instead of 10m :P) but its a lot quieter than my previous PC. What i do to all my Real Silents before installing them is removing the molexes...
