Yes I was relying on MBM, using a multimeter the 5v is actually 4.95 not 4.8, the 12V rail was correct at 12.15v. AOpen SilentTek reports the same voltages as MBM, so the measurement error must be on the motherbord. The only voltage they disagree on is the 3.3 volt line where SilentTec gives 3.47v t...

Voltage Mod
I have an FSP PSU, but the 5volt rail is a bit low (4.8v at idle).
Is there an adjustment pot that can be tweeked or some other mod to raise the voltage a bit ? The PC works OK and all oter voltages are within 1% of nominal.
I have modded the fan so can not send it back.

I asked MikeC the same question in
http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=3966
towards the end
And he said get an FSP and change the fan, which is what I have done

Example: 120mm L1A at 7V pulls approx 40CFM, that same volume of flowing air restricted to 80mm (50% reduction) would cause the velocity to increase proportionally, to approx 60 CFM (50% increase). No The CFM will not increase, it will decrease a little due to the higher resistance. Only the veloci...

[That's not the whole truth, if your motherboard temps were about 55oC I am certain you will get lockups, ramdom resets etc. Some people running CPU's at this temperture have found it to be unstable including myself. :D You should tell that to MikeC He wrote in the AOpen motherbord review A. Quiet ...

quote "Is it actually the platters that heat up in a HD and cause damage? How do they heat up? By spinning? That seems unlikely" It is actually the platters. Most of the heat generated by a HD comes from friction between the spinning platters and the air. The faster the platters spin the hotter they...

If the PSU fan is the only fan you have then you need more fans. 2 fans at 7v move more are and are quieter than a single fan at 12v The nexus fan is temperature controlled and normally quiet. If it is not quiet it is because it is overloaded and you need an additional fan. If you reduce its speed y...

Mains noise is everywhere. I used to make battery powered timers, put an oscilloscope probe on the wires and mains frequency was present it is not necessarily the PSU's fault. Electro-magnetic waves go through the air - that is how radio works for example. Capacitors on the PSU output and Audio card...

There are only exhaust fans. The case is very open. If your case side is removed then you just need a CPU fan, otherwise you need the input and exaust fans to balance. Is one of the exausts in the PSU ? 2 or 3 exausts with no inputs will always give high temps, Try turning one of the exausts into an...
