Re: First Radeon RX EU official pricing seen on web
It will be $199 for 4gb. I really can't see the point of more than 4gb if it is more than 30 dollar difference. Anything approaching the $300's for nice cooling and 8gb, just save for a 1070. I am looking forward to a 4gb model with non-blower cooling, whatever price that comes to be. This cannot be...

Re: Seasonic Titanium PSUs
I can say with absolute certainty that either Seasonic will work over the phone to fix it with you, some setting or windows adjustment (I know it is crazy sounding but i have heard that from them) or they will replace it for you. that is the nicest company I have dealt with ever, that and Zalman. Ni...

there are bios settings you can change, and various other things to update. I remember that the coil whine was able to be stopped in most all cases. They couldnt figure it out with you on the phone yet? read around if you havent on solving it. Maybe look at newegg comments, i saw some there about it...

Six year review of Scythe's Grand Kama Cross
Well, I almost forgot what cooler my 1090T has. I figured out it is the Grand Kama Cross. I bought it at http://www.microcenter.com in the store six years ago it will be this summer. I was running SETI@Home at 100% today. The program to read temps I have showed all cores at about 111 degrees F. The ...

you should sticky this for people. Yes, without this bizarre process you can't run updates. I could not figure out how to get it run automatically when reinstalling it on an old machine for a MUD server. That is the only way!

if someone wants help, my advice is don't give them it. Now you can rest and leave them fester. Computer help is meant for the following: A temporary girlfriend, a relative with no hands, eyes or heartbeat, A cat, someone who paid you lots of money and does not have your phone number, or for yoursel...

i still use windows xp on the desktop, and i don't see much of a reason to upgrade If it ain't broke, don't fix it :D The only reason to move from one OS to another version is if it truly is an upgrade for you. This is why I am not moving from Win7 because Win8 SUCKS and then they brought out Win10...

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread
I wonder if my Seasonic 460 fanless PSU could handle the following: AMD 1090T + either Polaris 8gb version or MSI gaming 1070gtx? I think it should be fine right? recommended is 460 is close to 500watts. I wish i bought the 520 watt fanless psu now. I heard at the time about whining issues in certai...

http://techreport.com/review/28751/intel-core-i7-6700k-skylake-processor-reviewed/9 I point people to this review. It wasnt a review for the i7 5775c, but it became one showing how it dominates in gaming to such a large degree, it makes 1000 dollar processors sad. The time of low frame lag on it, t...

oh, good point. More modern and better boards. that is a good point. C236 chipset is brand new. that is a heavy reason to do so, being that i so slowly upgrade my system. Right now, I wish i had m2 port on my older machine and wish i had 3.1 for external backup, so good point there. I think my HDMI ...

Now that I am ready to buy, I am considering the following one of those new Xeon's clocked high or an i7-5775c. Chips are as follows: i7-5775c e3-1270 v5 e3-1275 v5 the two xeon chips are small price difference, one has an IGP the other does not. I am wondering if there is a benefit to one vs the ot...

Re: Computex 2016: Raijintek presents their first passive AI
In effect it is just a bendy heatpipe. Could be useful for some installations but looking at that radiator the fins look a bit close together for passive operation. A radiator like the original Zalman Reserator would be more suited for fanless operation but this looks to be more designed for fan co...

Beat me to this! I saw this and was like WOW! that is a solution I would certainly buy, I have to post it on SPCR. I was a huge fan of no fans (hah!) and a big fan of the Reserator 1 by zalman. I regret letting it go. I would use it still if i had it. However, this isnt a water cooling setup, uses s...

Re: Xeon Skylake: E3-1200 v5 series - It looks awesome.
I am not convinced that these are server parts. I really want server quality boards with one pci-e 3.0 and usb 3.0 i think is fine enough. 3.1 is nice of course. I could get a pci-e expansion card if necessary one day. I believe the ASUS board does not use ECC. I am doubting the server quality of th...

Xeon Skylake: E3-1200 v5 series - It looks awesome.
I was noticing the sick existence of something called a skylake xeon processor. They have ones that are 2.0ghz base clock and intel 530 graphics for 25 watt TPD. Talk about stability, no temps and computing power at the same time. It has turbo when you need it too I am looking at the E3-1275 v5 for ...

Hm. Things to think about. Yes, optimally I want to utilize my fan bay controller. That crap is like a 60 dollar fan bay controller. 140mm PWM Cpu fan question / recommendation
Hi. I was about to buy the Phanteks. Then I noticed it has 120mm screw holes. I can't use that. then i was about to get the TrueQuiet. But that is voltage controlled not PWM. I always use a PWM on my cpu. The rest I use voltage with nice case fan controller. I read the 140mm round up reviews, but th...

Update: Soooo after a while I couldn't stand the noise from the BeQuiet SilentWings. They "seemingly" got louder every night. Now I have replaced all fans with 6 x Antec True Quiet 140mm fans. I'm running them at ~250rpm. I've also cut away the fan grill meshing in the case (in the back and on the ...
