For those that say the MSI NX8600GT-T2D256EZ doesn't fit, I have this exact card in my NSK2400 with Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard, and it fits. The tops of the heat pipes that curve over to the backside of the card do touch the underside of the case lid, but it FITS. It also runs fine. The heatsink rad...

I've just recently got an Antec Fusion V2, and love it. :) Question though - in this version the VFD is powered partially by three wires trailing off the 24 pin connector - which seems to be custom to the fusion. If i was to purchase a new psu - ie HX520 - is there some other way to power the VFD.. ...

Mikey - Thanks for the feedback and the great tip about the fan connector. No worries :) Great to know you have a similar rig that I'm about to put together. Just wondering, did you consider any other CPU heatsink ? I was originally looking at the SI-128, though i'm happy to run at stock until the ...

Oh yeah, and sending in a part for RMA, even though it works fine, is the leading sunk cost for manufacturers, and the main cause for bad service and support. It is why DFI is hurting. It is part of what caused Abit to go under, and get bought out and turned into Universal aBit. It's why Asus is se...

yefi - while that may be true, the 7300GT doesn't have the video decode capability of the 2400 series.. thus while decoding video the 7300GT system is likely to use more power (mainly from cpu) than a comparatively configured system with a 2400. Thus the attraction of the 2400pro. :) Thats a bummer ...

I began to wonder. Because the last 2 cards I used didn't accept an svideo cable, only their special breakout box, I hadn't even tried hooking it up directly. I have to wonder wether it's a different implementation of s-video though, as all the cards seem to have exactly the same connector with mor...

8400GS cards are starting to see the light of day. http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/20/foxconn-offering-sub-100-directx-10-cards/ Seeing as they have Purevideo HD *, does this mean they'll be just as adequate for video playback as a 8500GT, and thus a good fit for the HTPC? The only drawback is i hav...

then its no wonder. my card hits over 70 at idle with an open case. the logic behind this should be obvious, the card needs air flowing over it. why dont you, just for testing purposes, reinstall the antec fans (theyre fairly bearable at low speed) and try closing the case. your card will run colde...

I have the EVGA 8800GTS 320MB and I was surprised at how quiet it is, but it is definitely a room heater. On the plus side, it exhausts the heat out of the system. For reference, I believe it's as quiet as or quieter than the card it replaced, the X1900XTX with a Zalman VF-900Cu at 5v. Thats a good...

That thing is so big, it's ridiculous. The card itself isn't actually that large. It's really just 9.5" but this one is the OEM version so the cooler makes it look very long. The cooler can come off and you can slap on any old after market cooler, and the card will only be 9.5" then. Smalle...
