Re: R3 Factal design
what is the best way to make my Pc quiet. I haven't ordered all the parts yet.. Chose careful your components, go for parts that already known to be quiet, add the least amount of noisy parts, like fans, hdds, dont have open vents or places where noisy might get through. 2500K i5 intel gpu- radeon ...

BitFenix Outlaw - P3 for the mum
Hey all, I've gone on a silent crazy and have upgraded or worked on a number of cases for friends and family. This post will center around the Outlaw build for my mum, she was using an old beige OEM from 2000~ for her P3 with an extremely loud 40mm fan on the Pentium 3 which sounded like a tornado. ...

Re: Antec 300 - Did some work for my brother in law
I also got the 300 it's nice case but the WD Blacks are the loudest harddrives that exist it's likely causing lot viberation noise. I went with Samsung hard drive for my build and don't see much viberation. Yea I was going to suggest he get other drives but he had already bought the Black's. Then a...

Re: Antec 300 - Did some work for my brother in law
Interesting, I would think the vibration from the harddrive would contribute in making the computer noisy. It does but this is the best I could do, luckily his HDs aren't very loud due to the two 120mm's sitting in front of it sucking in air. Those Fractal's aren't exactly the quietest fans, good f...

Antec 300 - Did some work for my brother in law
Hey all, I've slowly been upgrading my brother in law's computer over the years, recently I gave him my old Logitech G11 and also my Asus 5750 to replace his aging and extremely loud HID 3870. I also got him a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and the Antec 300 his rig is in. He only plays Eve and a little b...

Re: Antec Solo II or Fractal Design Define R3
If you aren't using a video card I recommend the Antec Solo II, it's quieter than the R3 and smaller which is easier to tuck away under desks or behind something. If you plan on putting in a video card later then I'd recommend the R3 just for the upgrade possibility. It also gives you the option of ...

Re: DAW - Sandy Bridge i7 2600K - in a new Antec P-150!
Why a P150 and not something like a P280 or R3? If this is for music production you want as little noise as possible and you're using 92mm fans for intake when you could be using 120's and there's no sound dampening material in there. I don't count the P150's vinyl sheets as doing anything but looki...

Looks good, but the dust! Up next you need to make a cover for that bench with holes for the fans to intake/exhaust

Re: Small cpu cooler for Fractal Design Core 1000
What's your budget? What about a Noctua NH-C14?
Height 13cm and will also cool your surrounding components, you can also run it without the top fan which brings it down to 10.5cm. It performs as well as the NH-D14 in some cases.

Re: Switch from a 650D to a Fractal R3
Nice built. It looks very silent and the temps look very safe. Nice indeed. You could also try to remove one of the front fans to reduce noise a bit. The bottom fan might aid GPU temps more than the front fan. What would you say makes most noise in your system? Vibration, case fans, CPU fans or GPU...

Switch from a 650D to a Fractal R3
Hey all, I've just switched to a Fractal R3 from a Corsair 650D, I have to say it's a very nice case. The R3 is smaller than the 650D yet much much quieter, however, it was harder to work with due to space constraints. Some things I don't like are the standoffs being like .5mm off and some of the sc...

I'm awaiting this case and I plan on opening it at the warehouse I'm picking it up front just in case I get a lemon.
So far every review has been great about this case though.
