I am still using the original bigwater pump, which is rated at 31.7 gph (120 lph). The pump is placed outside the computer case and wrapped in tshirts under the desk. No noise whatsoever, although it does rattle (after 2 years of usage) and would have made noise if it was hard mounted to the case. O...

I am also using water cooling for my gpu. I have a 7600gs sonic with ddr3 memory, as other members have already spotted, ddr3 does not get hot. The rams in my card are factory overvolted to 2volts (default is 1.8), factory speed is 1000mhz, I am using them at 1500 right now, with no overheating. I'v...

Passive system with household radiator
I had a bigwater, water cooling system for a long time. I've ducted the radiator, changed the fan, added gpu and chipset blocks etc. But my main aim was to go all passive with the cooling solution. I had the idea of using a house hold radiator and finally had the time and ambition to do it. System s...

I've been reading reviews about the SilverStone ELEMENT ST50EF model, without the plus. This model also offers +80 efficiency. In my country Seasonic S12 500W is sold for $140.37 + tax, while ST50EF is $110 + tax. Seems like a good alternative. A spcr review would be great, might even alter the reco...

Using a lower voltage will result in less airflow, but that can be compensated to a degree by using more e...

Ok let's see, the performance per watt parameter for load cases. Performance parameter is (1/superpi), so to get the performance per watt value we shall calculate 1/(superpi*watt). I will be using the prime95 wattage, also note that bigger is better and finally the results are multiplied by 1000 for...

Thanks for the results. Can you also add the watt results for default voltage and default frequency. Also, can you add the systems performance value for each result (for instance superpi 2m results or 3d mark cpu results) so that we can create a performance/watt for each case. To see if undervolting...

A simple plastic fan grill will do the trick, no big deal (plastic, since you wouldn't want electrons sticking on a metal grill and charging it up). Besides, I looked at the specs of the unit. It generates 20kvolts with 50micro amps, multiply to find 1 watts output. There is no way such an output ca...

Remember the ionic system cooler? Well here is the link for it, to freshen up the memories. http://www.inventgeek.com/Projects/IonCooler/Overview.aspx That guy just did a fan version of that ionic cooler and did it with parts for less than 40$. well, I am using samsung sata drives right now, which appear to be the most silent drives avaliable at my home town. The drives are actually quite nice, vibrations are minimal. But as I've mentioned before, the high frequency whine is bothering me. Water cooling and wrapping them seemed to be the mo...

This is my current rig. http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img00134gp.jpg The harddisks are hard mounted to the harddisk cage. Which a...

well it's actually funny.
But I've found those two modders talking about their designs in a watercooling forum.
They both agree that the middle active cooling is an overkill. So I'll do the cooler without the middle part.

how shall I water cool a harddisk
Ok, I've been looking for a way to effectively cool down my 2 harddisks. I've examined several different apporaches to the matter. 1)For instance, this guy completely ignores the chipset cooling. http://www.webx.dk/oz2cpu/pcmod/water.htm#HD 2)This guy uses a somewhat better approach to the chip side...

Actually this all depends on the 7600gs card one is using. For instance I own a palit 7600gs sonic, which comes clocked at 450/1000 and has gddr3 memory. With "detect optimal frequency", I was able to o.c the card to 550/1450 and squeeze 6200 3d mark 2005 points out of the card. With a price of 122$...

That temp threshold does not have to make any sense. Initially 6600gt cards don't have temp reading enabled in the bios. You did a bios hack to get the values right? Actually that temperature you are reading is not accurate either. As there is no temp reading in the card, the manufacturer didn't bot...

teknerd, seems to have covered the idea. Let me reexplain. Firstly this is not a psu calculator. It only adds the heats of several pc component you'll be water cooling and give you a rough wattage. Using that value you choose a radiator suited to your needs. Radiators are also watt rated, so this is...

I tried undervolting MSI 6600GT VTD 128MB AGP Nibitor's voltage table has two values 1.3V for 2D and 1.4V for 3D. First I measured the voltages with my multimeter. 1.3V was 1.33V and 1.4V was 1.44V. I extended the table and got 1.1V and 1.2volt. Using these values and measuring the output with the m...

hmm thinking... In my water system, ambient is 22-24 degrees. And during load I get about 30-32C water temps. And this is with a amd 3000+ venice which outputs much less than 100watts (around 50-60watts I guess). So 20C is not really off base for a 100watt system. If you have a good contact between ...

i dont think your harddisk is working at 70C. You'll feel the heat of something at that temperature without even touching. I guess there is something wrong with your temp sensor on the harddisk. Try using your hands and touch the metal over the harddisk. If it feels hot, it is higher than 40C. If yo...

Weird Buzzing from around CPU during HD activity
Hello, my first post. I've a working FTP server on a 100Mbit/s LAN and its quite busy, working at around 40Mit/s all the time. There is a buzzing coming around the cpu area fully correlated with harddisk activity while sending files over the FTP, whenever the HD activity led is on, there is the buzz...
