Does anyone who owns one of these NB heatpiped boards also use an Antec P180 or a similarly upside-down placed motherboard mount? Does Asus or Abit specify the mounting direction? P180 doesn't have an upside down motherboard mount. Its the same orientation as the majority of ATX tower cases. I've t...

MikeC: Post edited. No need to get so defensive, fella. How can you be making judgements on how good a P180 is for an ultimate quiet system when you don't even use notebook hard drives? Because the P80s, whether suspended, on foam blocks or enclosed, aren't anywhere close to being the noisiest thing...

The Antec and Artic Cooling cases made SOME effort to be a bit quieter than usual. Are they ideal? Hell,I can take an old junkyard full tower, spend a LOT of design and construction time and end up with a much quieter case. ...also a lot bigger and heavier. Yes it wasn't, neither antec's marketing w...

What's the lowest setting? (RPM and voltage) What kind of fans are they? Noisy tri-speed ones. The seeks (and idle) of a DM9 would be noticeable from space. Yup. Stuck it in there to test. Idle is fine. In what respect? If for example you're thinking of using the Thermaltake Purepower fanless, I ca...

The P180 simply isn't a quiet case - expectations too high?
I've been playing around with the P180 for the last few weeks now, and I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed. In essence, it doesn't strike me as a quiet case at all in stock form and its certainly not 'silent'. The top and rear case fans even when set to the lowest setting are audible from ove...

One thing I have noticed from my TriCools, or at least one of them, is that they started to click very badly. I thought at first the switch got caught in the blades, but it wasn't that. I turned the speed up to high then back down low, and it goes away. It's really weird. Yup, mine does that as wel...

I've had a Gigabyte 6800 'silentpipe' for about a year now and its been running faultlessly. It uses the same heatpipe mechanism as the 6600GT in the original post. Temps without fan were about 70/90 (idle/load). Using a Zalman fanbracket and Nexus 80mm blowing across the width of the card dropped t...

In an email i got from acoustipack a few weeks ago, they said they were definitely doing a pre-cut P180 pack with release "before the end of the year". Haven't seen anything or heard any further news. I suspect it would definitely be worth installing, particularly if they provide an option to cover ...

Is there a simple way to remove double side tape on P180 PSU
I hate Antec. Really really hate them. Why did they have to use double sided tape in the PSU compartment of the P180? Its an absolute dog to remove. Its easy to remove the rubber/gel strips but the tape underneath is very difficult, and it also juts onto the case edge which isn't rolled and has just...

....then the Mini seems rather pointless. Not powerful enough for 720p as well as being expensive.
Other than looks, whats the advantage of something like the Mini over say the Beblu?

A couple of thoughts occurred to me:- 1. How difficult would it be to replace that blower fan with something quieter? 2. Given that the graphics performance is completely hamstrung (eg. no 720p playback), is the price of Aopen mini going to reflect that? Love the looks, I only wish Aopen had concent...

Re: T7K250 = most silent drive? What about that noise every
Hi, 1/ First of all, can anybody tell me if the Hitashi Deskstar T7K250 (I am talking about the the 250MB sized "T" model) still makes a certain noise every 10 minutes when idle. Isn't it annoying to hear that noise every 10 minutes when your drive is idle (WD and Maxtor don't have this I believe)?...

If its any consolation, my motherboard makes similar noises (nForce2 Ultra 400). Its like a pulsing / beeping sound but very faint. At first I couldn't figure out where it was coming from until I stuck my head inside the PC whilst stopping all the fans and externalising the HDD to a noise insulated ...

I've looked around the web and of course here, but I haven't been able to find a lot of info on Silverstone PSUs (with fans).
