Have you heard about reliability problems with sleeve bearing fans unless they've been run in horizontal position? Yes, some people on this board reported Slipstream has little and poor lubricant and it does evaporate in a few months. Aye, but that can be fixed few re-lubrication of general lubrica...

Why not S-FLEX as front/rear case fan? Their bearing still is more reliable than the Slipstream/Nexus bearing and they are overall good fans. There is Slip Stream 120mm Slim now: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fa ... -slim.html
Design seems similar to the 100mm Kaze Jyu Slim one.

Asus don't tell you if a ENGTX260 is 216sp or 55nm.aristide1 wrote: Only EVGA and Asus identify what technology, the rest still hide the fact.
Older GTX260s with 192 processors = 65nm.
Brands with explicit 55nm models are Point of View, Gainward, Gigabyte, some XFXs, Zotac, EVGA...

Sycthe's naming schemes are getting more and more confusing. I actually just ordered 2x 120mm Kama-FLEX fans last night. (1000RPM) So...if we go by the naming logic....its a hyrbid of the Kama-Flow and S-FLEX. I have tired the S-Flex and the SlipStreams. I'll post back on subjective results...

Well ,I had to improvise. I made a quick scheme in paint cose i tryed to take a photo but it's not visible. Basicly ,the fan is mounted with the 2 screws and "rests" on the metal clips by presure ,and between the fan and clip i mounted a silicone pad on each side. [...] Could you measure the exact ...

I woldn't say a lot ,but of course it helps. But i will buy some realy silent fans. What sould it be? Nexus or Noctua? Noctua are overpriced here in Romania ,but Nexus are reasonably priced. But if Noctua is better ,i'll try to get 2 of those. The Scythe Gentle Typhoons have a strange low frequency...

re -- It’s not so much the mounting, but likely the fan itself that is the culprit. If you guys try mounting the top fan to blow down, it may very well cut down most of the vibration that you guys noticed during the review. Or you can simply switch to a ball-bearing fan. Mlore to come after furth...

Slipstreams seem to have a bit of a quality issue over time. For your case the best choice at this moment is the Gentle typhoon 1150. Its quiter than a Slipstream at 800 moves about the same amount of air and is built like a tank. I wouldn't recommend them for PSUs and heatsinks because of the low ...

I don't know, this SPCR review http://www.silentpcreview.com/article870-page1.html said the GTX 260 reference cooler was quite good (and that was with a 40% fan @ idle), so I thought a reference GTX 260 with fan lowered from 40% to 25% could be good

So I still think that the best approach would be to use one of the utilities such as RivaTuner, and use either the manual or auto settings set to as low as you get away with. Using software like these, you can't go lower than 20% (about 1100-1200 rpm for the Vapor-X), this is why I was thinking abo...
