THERE IS NO BENEFIT OF USING DDR2 1000 ON INTEL SYSTEMS. Do you even know what your memory speed is with C2D @ stock frequency? 266x2 = 533 MHz (DDR2 533 speed). Overclock 25% will net you 333x2 = 666MHz (DDR2 666 speed). 50% OC is DDR2 800. All in 1:1 FSB:Memory ratio. What about memory dividers? ...

Well, not for C2D, but if quad-core is the plan, all that bandwidth might just come in handy. Please DO NOT comment on something you have NO IDEA about. M12 has noticable longer cables, has the standard ATX24pin and 4/8pin power cable. My s12 380's cabling is not long enough for m...

the overclock at any cost crowd will go to a more roomy case for 1-2 rad water cooling or vapor chill.

You are spending all the money on GPU and CPU, and yet your choice of HDD are only at the mid range? Go get an SAS card, 3 Cheetah 15k.5 72GB in RAID 5 for OS and 3 750GB in RAID5 for data please Overkill and overly loud. Two 7200RPM HD's are bad enough. SCSI drives are not all that loud inside P18...

380w is more than enough.

250w is enough.

my conroe box (see sig) consumes less than 200 at full load.

you need to take the height of the CPU cooler into account. The raise of the ASUS 7600GT HSF in upright position is about 110mm if i remembered correctly.

XFX has that 7950 passively cooled. ASUS has 7600GT in passive heatsink too. gigabyte's 7600GT and X1600 works amazingly well. My AMD box (see sig) is not audible at night. My desk lamp is louder than that box, except at times when the DVD drive is spinning. BTW, I don't have iPod or any MP3 player....

If you can afford it ($10 more), EE is a better choice.

Not sure if you want a silent computer or a quite computer, but the different between these are small.

Passive cooler should be enough, and get the tall tower ones like ninja or u120 if you are not going to use case fans.

There's not a lot of reason to release low power C2Q for Intel because power consumption isn't on the mind of those who want quad core on desktops.

What's interesting is that Intel has a 50W quad core server processor coming in 1Q of 2007. God damn that's fine.

Re: M12-600

I just got my M12-600 and here are a couple thoughts: 1) The 120mm fan is quiet, although my old Antec TPII-550 with a YL fan-mod was smoother sounding. This fan is exactly what was in the older 500-600W models 2) The 60mm fan never runs (though it is in a P180 case) - at least not so far, so I can...

Athlon X2 3600+ on market!!

http://www.centralcomputer.com/itemdeta ... UAMDDC360R

In a local computer shop in teh valley!!

$135 vs $160 for 3800+ X2 65W.

I guess the price/perforamnce is right in the ball park.

you are using a conroe, so its compatible. =.= am2/am3 has nothing to do with you.
