It was either cropped out or it's a pic of a slightly different pre-production version of the case. And Antec does doors on practically all of their cases. I'm not crazy about doors but have decided I don't mind them over the drive bays, I'm not so crazy about covering the power/reset buttons though.

Only way you are going to silence raptor seeks is using external SATA in a closet or behind a wall. I'm happy with a silent idle and a quieter seek obtained through acoustipack and having my pc at floor level, but even if I added an enclosure I don't believe the seeks would be silent. The smart driv...

Apple's water cooling is just heatpipes, not what is normally discussed regarding water in pc circles. I do think that 9 fans is inefficient though, unless it has a much bigger heat problem than any pc system.

I'm thinking we will begin to see BTX motherboards this summer, more Intel than AMD though. And I agree BTX is going to have a slow adoption, it's going to be expensive to begin with, and there's really very little improvement over ATX in a lot of people's opinions. They could have simply revised AT...

Very interesting. Need more info! Just from what is shown now I'm almost sure I will replace my current case with this one (acoustipacked lian-li). I do wonder if I will be replacing the fans with some from nexus though, and if I'll be adding acoustipack, and if the rear and top exhaust fans work we...

Well you might look at the Hush cases. They do have standard MATX, but last I checked you had to get a complete system, and it would not be easy to switch boards. Still, I'd check it out if you haven't already.

I've been growing more interested in the idea of placing the cpu below the rest of the system. More for the easy of a seperate PSU channel than anything else though. Not to help the PSU's efficiency so much as to simply keep it cooler and quieter under heavy loads. Now you can mod a low flow fan int...

My impossible dream?

Well I've decided I am not perfectly satisfied with my case, so I've spent some time looking for a replacement. For reference I have a Lian-Li PC-69 with acoustipack deluxe. Now I'm not afraid to spend some money to get what I want, but I haven't seen anything that would satisfy me yet. So here is w...

I'm really looking forward to hearing more about these boards. I'm considering an A64 or Pentium M upgrade next month. Particularly would like to see how far these boards can push a 1.6 Dothan if anyone get's a chance to find out! I have just ordered the Aopen board and a Dothan 725 (1.6), going to...

Not everyone wants to open up their power supply and mod it. But it's not that hard to find a quiet lower power air cooled power supply if you try. It's definately an extreme product though, most suited to systems with water cooling that have at least a moderate amount of airflow already. Zalman's u...

FYI on the diNovo, Logitech has released a fast rf version bundled with a wireless notebook mouse. It's retailing for $150, so you can combine it with an MX1000 mouse for a very nice, if costly set. It's just a shame Logitech can't do a decent job on the software that would put their great hardware ...

Yes newegg filters bad reviews out. Once in awhile one is missed but I'm not sure what the criteria is. I ordered one and it included a shim. The only comparison I can make is that when used with a coolermaster 80mm rifle bearing/led fan it beats a vantec aeroflowl with the tmd fan by 1-2 degrees. This is with both at 12 volts. For reference I find the coolermaster fan on a simliar performance level t...

The gaskets can and will dampen vibrations, really this is normally not a problem for a well built case (steel or aluminum) if you have quiet parts to begin with. But really you are better off doing something like acoustipack first imo, it costs a bit more but is much more silencing for your buck on...

Pentium M 'Dothan' MATX board for north america this month

Pretty interesting imo, and it's from DFI so it should be decent at least, and could be very good if it's as flexible as their LanParty series.
