I probably overdid it with a heatpipe VGA cooler on the 9600xt, but I'd still be wary of having a solution like that, and not having an airflow moving over it. Just my 2 cents/pesos/pence/whatever other denomination.

i just used speedfan and lowered the speeds of the northbridge fan and the OTES fan down to 50%, and i can't hear the high pitched whine over the other fans. granted, i have 4 8cm coolermasters, but at least it sorta helps.

it's always a better idea to pay more money for someone else to do it if you don't have the huevos yourself  . i've heard that there are multiple options for recording television - don't restrict yourself to an AIW. search around, and find the best option for yourself.

the back doesn't have any restrictions, assuming you just cut the grille out. the front might require a bit more work, but that's ok.

i'm not sure how much more heat the 9600xt AIW produces, but right now i'm using the single pipe cooler with my regular 9600xt without a fan, and it's doing fine. i even managed to get it to post for a whole year when i mounted it poorly the first time. hope this helps. i know for a fact that it's r...

in all honesty, i'm amazed that neither you or your euipment hasn't been fried due to electrical shock - styrofoam packing materials transmit electricity, and the charge in a PSU will easily go through the insulators if provoked. i commend you on your efforts.

a request of input on Athenatech mATX with 120mm

here's a link to what i'm talking about: mATX case now here are some of the things i'm wondering about, and hope that other people will provide input. according to what i see, the rear part of the case will accept a 120mm, assuming that's an 80mm mounted on. so the same could go for the front, albei...

of all holy things svelte and non-garish, some of those are just plain gaudy looking :) . i guess to each their own. but yeah, it seems that people have neglected the whole newegg idea. granted, there's a lot of product there, but you gotta search through it to find some keepers. i chose those athen...

i just saw images of the VF700-Cu on Zalman's website, and it calls to me. the passive giant block thing [which i currently own] is a pita to install, and even at that rate, it's really, really hot. so i figure i'll just buy another one that's easier to install, and has a fan on it to boot. not the ...

i'm using a zalman single heatpipe on a 9600xt, and it was sorta hot to the touch, but i didn't take a temperature reading [due to the fact that i don't have a thermometer]. i ended up taking it off, and i'm going to reattach it later when i have the time (and no finals :P). I think a major problem ...

i tried the multiple partition thing. Right now, I'm up to 5 partitions. the small OS partition was a bad idea; you have to keep resassigning program files to another partition. I suggest you get a HD, split it in half, and put your programs on one, and the OS on the other. It sounds simple, but it'...

First post. I decided that my information was relevant enough. Go to Microcenter, if there's one nearby. They have a bunch of OEM products, and you can see right through the packaging to see which motor it is. I just purchased a 160gb SATA Nidec from them. They had a sale a while back; mine was 100 ...
