Well, it's certainly smaller than the Ninja (weighs less too), but it has more fins, so perhaps they have similar surface area? However those fins are closer together... I don't think it will perform as well as the Ninja under almost-passive conditions. Only a test will tell but I'm not overly optim...

I would say it has the same effect as undervolting the CPU and would lower temps, however because it is difficult to do (a resistor somewhere, perhaps?) and most people wanting low power simply buy a basic card, there probably isn't much information on it. Just underclocking in 2D is good enough for...

I worked around it by creating a folder on my webspace with the .jpg extension... there's an index.php script that redirects to folding stats. Publius is a mercenary (who was just hired by Korriban after I wiped out most of his fleet). He gained prestige from attacking me but he could only rid me of FSDs, so his head should hang in shame. I've never experienced SpeedStep firsthand, but by the sounds of it ffdshow will be a heavy load making SS useless while you watch movies. I am not particularly concerned about idle as heat production is far less, so fans can run slower and quieter. It's fortunate that fresh air is going directly to...

I hope your motherboard is undervoltable because a Prescott and Zalman 7000 won't be a quiet combination if you want to maintain clock speed. An XP-120 would really help you but isn't feasible for an HTPC. With those components the best advice I can give is make sure you can extract the processor he...

I meant those silent blocks, or antivibration screws... don't know how to call them :P (pic) so that the fan isn't in direct contact with the metalic screws and thus with the case. They reduce vibration, but if there isn't any vibration to begin with they have little benefit. Nexus fans are suppose...

I don't remember the problem being reported with the Winchester cores and Edward Ng has the same problem on an Abit , so I believe it's something to do with the new processor cores. Asus support ...

Yeah, but i leave the side of the case open (until i get some 120mm fans), keeps the cpu wicked cool. The front intake fan is only there atm to cool down the HDD, which idles at 50'C without a fan! However - and the most important difference - is that the higher wattage PSU HAS to cope with a much higher load and therefore more heat, so it will usually have a faster noisier fan (e.g. difference between S12 430W and 500W) and could have a different fan controller setting. Efficiency tends to be...

Won't there be a problem with the close proximity to the case walls and blowing into each other's path? It's a shame the ATX spec is less than 16cm. I had to put one of the fans on my PSU hanging slightly over the edge, whereas it would probably run more effectively when blowing completely into the ...
