It is probably not possible to replace your motherboard by the exact same model if it is that old. Your best bet is to find some other board that fits the system. You might try searching in Goolge Shopping with your requirements, e.g., "motherboard 478 ddr2".

3 gigabit is the interface not the transfer rate. Read speed would probably be somewhere around the 100mb/s max.
