I would imagine setting up a network isn't too hard but for me and my family, there never was a use. We don't share files and back-ups are done to external hard drives, and if we need to print something, we just turn on a computer and print. Anywho... I would imagine I need to get a (wireless) route...

I'm new to networking. Actually, scratch that. I'm on a dial-up so networking and such associated terms makes my head spin and I don't think broadband is coming to me anytime soon. There's no point in using a Squeezebox as I may as well move the PC into my room (although my room is small and the hor...

That's true. I'll admit I'm no audiophile and I'm pretty laidback when it comes to audio quality. I don't have a receiver, amplifier, etc. etc.. I've used an Audigy 2 ZS, and various embedded audio. Frankly, they all are the same to me with subtle differences but I'll cope. If anything, I think the ...

I would imagine the hard drive would be loud and it looks like you're going to have a field day trying to suspend it.

I actually have the NSK2400 so scratch watching DVD's. I just wanted a low power way to listen to mp3's. I tried using an mp3 player but it's a 1 GB flash based and it normally lasted 30-40 hours. Using speakers, it lasted less than 10. I thought about buying a hard drive based mp3 player and always...

Music PC.

I want to build a PC that will only play music. It may be used to watch DVD's and surf the Internet. The thing is I just want to turn it on and have it play music. I don't even want to use a monitor. All my monitors are CRT and just eat energy. I was looking for a SFF case with 2 5.25 bays: one for ...

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=7&t=9354 It says the 7600 GS uses 27 while the 7300 GS uses 16 Or you could use this: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp And calculate total wattage which I have found in my computer to be close to what my Kill-a-Watt says. It was off by...

The side mounted external bays seems really odd but after I think about it, it doesn't bother me that much considering how little I use CD's. I'm worried that three 80mm fans will be quite noisy even at minimum voltage. It also doesn't look like the hard drives get that much cooling. It looks like i...

I wonder how much it cost. I think on Cnet said it was going to be around 199 dollars.

100 dollars for a VFD, volume know, firewire port, and what else?

After hearing that it might cost that much, I think I'll go with the NSK2400.

Thanks! That is good to know. I have already ordered a Silver Asus DVD-ROM from Newegg for my current build, but on my next build, I might like to just re-use a drive I already have on hand. Also, the Asus silver may or may not really match this case, so I may end up spray painting it, any way. Whe...

Would the NEC 3550 DVD-burner look okay? The silver one that is. For that matter, would the ASUS one? Basically, the few silver DVD-burners on Newegg.
