MonsterMac: I think when you say ".02 cents" you mean ".02 dollars." .02 cents would be a miniscule amount of money.

Unless you meant .02 cents in which case your post would mean next to nothing.

2.0 Celeron? Why don't you just take out the fan on that 7000? That heatsink should be enough to cool that CPU as long as you have a rear exhaust fan or something.

Hrm... Then which 92mm fan? I know Ralf uses Panaflo L1A, but Goat uses SilenX...

Any other thoughts? Or even better, any DBA readings?

Which Heatsink

I'm assuming that the Thermalright (900 version) is paired up with a 92mm silent fan (panaflo/papst/acoustifan/whatever floats your boat) as opposed to a stock c7000. Or if you recommend switching out the c7000 fan, please say so.

This is on a p4 2.6.

My god... You have the quietest computer ever... No seriously... No fans? And you didn't pay a ridiculous amount for a ridiculous case. I salute you, sir.

Around here the 120's of choice seem to be the following:
Panaflo L1A
Evercool (titan's)
Papst
SilenX
Nexus

Two more questions :P: About the PSU, I thought that the fan just sucks... why did you mount it upside down? And Second, you said that that suckhole is loud? Does anyone have any solutions for this? I was contemplating using a PSU duct like you did, but you said it was loud. Now I'm lost... Anyone h...

I'm stupid. I see the mobo chipset now, hidden by that sweet 92mm.

Great job, looks spectacular.

I just can't get over this duct idea, it is such a great idea.

This guy seems to have an OCed 2.2 up to a 2.66 and it runs perfectly fine... even cooler than my setup right now, which worries me a little.

Why does his work but mine wouldnt?

Is the fan speed of the Arctic able to be controlled by the cooler itself? Or do I have to use a Zalman/other fan controller and some modding?

Is it really that bad? I mean assuming that I DO get a SpinPoint, then what about the noise of the VGA Silencer?

Ah I understaaaaand... Okay. So I've moved away from the duct as a whole. So now my airflow will be as follows: Sucks in from the front due to the negative pressure in the case, air will blow past my harddrive, up past my CPU HSF and out through either the rear-exhaust 120mm or my Mike's Seasonic. B...

Okay so I've ditched the idea about the duct-only, in my reading of Edward's website, I mixed up processors blah. So I'm thinking, what if I still get a ducted case, except run a Zalman C7000AL-CU with the fan? It would still be drawing cool air from the outside therefore the fan speed would go down...

I think peteamer and hammersandwich got it right. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm not changing those items. This is my current setup, as in I already have these parts and I don't wanna spend money on more superfluous items that I don't really need. So the motherboard, CPU, RAM, videocard, and harddrive ar...

Can someone check this for me?

Alright after seeing Edward Ng's Sigma III, I have finally decided on what I'm going to do: copy his computer as closely as possible :D . I'm not going to change the core of the computer, so here's what it is right now (Not Changing These Items): Mobo: MSI 875p Neo Processor: P4 2.66 (no overclockin...

That is awesome, I was just thinking about a Sonata and then adding a duct exactly like you did. Hopefully, my computer will turn out exactly like yours. Now you said that at 100% load it was 50-51? That's awesome. For me, just surfing the net and writing a paper, i'm running 49C with a stock cooler...

To be honest, i'm more worried about the sound factor of the Arctic more than the temperature. Call me nuts, but to me, sound is a wee bit more important than 3 more degrees.

A nice budget CPU cooler.

Hello, this is my first post here at SPCR, though I've read many many articles here before. Well I'm running a 2.66 p4 non overclocked, and I'm not happy with the noise. At all. I can barely enjoy my music. I have the stock HSF, and I run about 36C idle and it can get to mid 60-s when running Bfield...
