I think maybe what would help your temps by at least a few degrees celcius if you had ONE 80mm L1A on top and created a duct attacking all three of those heatsinks to that one fan. It wouldnt add i dont think ANYTHING to the noise, and for a few degrees, that's awesome. The duct would have to be mad...

It claims to move a good amount of air, filters it, and is SILENT! I would just stick this badboy in my Tower case and call it ventilated. Check it out.

Oh man, ditch that video card, whatever you do. nVidia REALLY fucked up with the 5x00 series. Badly. Both the 9600pro and the 9500 pro DEMOLISH that card in terms of performance. Same price range, I'm assuming, so go with an ATI at that power level. If you wanna go big, come back to nVidia for their...

Did you have to mod the Globe fan to mount it on the XP-120? I read elsewhere that they have closed corners. Yes, they have closed corners. It takes about 5-10 minutes to do a nice clean Dremel job on them but they're such quiet fans that i just sucked it up and did it. Where did you put the thermi...

Instead, single silicon carbide crystals are formed by the condensation of supersaturated vapor. The process, which has been around since the 1970s, leaves many tiny structural defects, and the result is not good enough for complex devices like microprocessors or memory chips. May be a LONG time bef...

About the Recommended Lists
Whenever I see new people here post questions to which other people reply "Look at the recommended lists" (often rudely), I can't help but feel sympathy for the guy because currently, the recommended lists are a little out of whack. First, the list of fans is tiny, and only includes 80mm fans. I kno...

By the way, umm... The Buckeyes will forever be better than any pussy wolverines. DOT THAT I, BITCHES! Michigan fans are... well... lame. Sorry. And its funny that you mention 2002... Because as I recall, who beat the heck out of the Wolverines in 2002? (besides the rest of the united states)? :twis...

Wumpus: I think you completely missed my point. The AMD64's beat out any P4 right now, but in a few months, the Pentium64 will be out as well, so I just suggested that he waits until he comes out. I say this because the Pentium64 is going to be way better than the AMD64. Few reasons: 1. The people a...

I would agree with waiting on the AMD64. I'm an Intel guy, to be sure, but there are just some certain facts that you can't ignore: The 3.2 ghz Intel whupps the shit out of the 3200+. You cannot compare the AMD64 to anything that Intel has out right now, that's for sure. But that's like comparing pc...

Ralf: I know this may be a stretch, but could you pleeeease take more pictures of your computer? Maybe one with the backside w/side panel removed?? That would help a LOT with helping me organize my cables in my new 3700!! And a question about the 3700... I had trouble putting back on my side panels....

Question using Alpha heatsink
I was planning on making a computer like this: PSU ducted to outside. 120mm Globe fan taking air out. Arctic VGA silencer OPEN front intake (From negative pressure) Alpha heatsink with fan pulling AWAY from the heatsink DIRECTLY into a duct to the outside. My concern is this: The air that i'm going ...

I think that's the right type of Papst. That heatsink I believe is a Thermalright 947(8) or an SLK-900? with... an interesting mounting mechanism, an interesting fan, and an interesting thermoresistor that I guess can be controlled. I dont think you can go wrong with a Thermalright. But try to find ...

The Antec SLK3700AMB is a popular pick around here, and at Newegg its 72 dollars shipped, but I'm assuming since you're using a Euro sign it might cost more to be shipped from the US ;) But that case is a real champ, I hear. The Antec Lanboy has been used to make some silent computers. (Search for B...
