d-tek fuzion water block
Has anyone been following the test results and discussions of the new d-tek fusion water block on the other computer sites? Does this mean that designers are moving away from jet impingement?

The model I have is an hbha which has a higher top speed than the hb. If the hb (high speed ball bearing) is rated at 2600rpm, 45dba, and 92.2cfm, then the hbha will be > 45dba @ top speed. I bought the hbha from skylinegraphics, the distributor on the jmcproducts website, but I'm not sure where I g...

You should rma your neohe for the latest rev before giving up. Email the editors at spcr and find out what rev and serial numbers have the lastest fix. Stay off the forums and try to resolve the problem through normal channels. You should not have to pay shipping for a replacement. Also, look at the...

Spcr reviewed the enhance enp-5136gh and found that at idle and low power the enhance was quieter than seasonics, but the fan controller curve is not as flat at higher power outputs. It uses the same adda medium speed fan. My 500w model remains quiet as my case temps are relatively cool using waterc...

I've used pwm fan controllers with nexus/yate loon fans and have not had any problems. I have three fan controllers: t-balancer, thermaltake hardcano 13, and zalman fanmate. Of the three, the t-balancer is the most useful and worth the price for the flexibility it allows. The latest version supports...

I can see there is still some confusion about bearings and mounting orientations. Here is a link to Cooling-Masters.com where they review the noctua fans. I've also included some of the diagrams from the review. Cooling-Masters Bearing Diagrams http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/glenngaryglenros...

I would just like to add that my enhance enp-5150gh came with an adda medium speed fan, model ad1212mb-a71gl. None of the cables are sleeved like the silverstone, but it only cost $67. I believe the enp-5140gh (400w) is about $10 less. As my system is watercooled, fan ramp up is not a problem. It's ...

No reason other than I have just not been keeping up with the latest air cooled stuff. It would probably work great, especially with a 940, using a recent version of the nmb-mat 120x38 where the additional static pressure of the fan would counteract the thickness and closer fin spacing (?) of the si...

A more constuctive approach would be to replace the stock heatsink with a thermalright xp-120, scythe ninja, thermalright ultra-120, or a thermalright si-120. Next, rma the neohe, or get one of the newer seasonics or zalman 120mm fan models. Then, instead of trying to silence your video card, I woul...

Double ball bearings or fluid dynamic bearings are better for horizontal mounting. For example, seasonic moved from yate loon simple sleeve bearing fans to double ball bearing adda fans. When sleeve bearing fans are mounted horizontally the weight of the blade assembly is supported by the end of the...

You didn't answer the question. In a typical 120mm psu with a lot of air flow impedance, fans with higher static pressure will do better. But spcr would say that with a low impedance heatsink like a ninja, which in some applications can function adequately without a fan, the noctua may do better. Ab...

They're both attemps, successful or not, to make quiet high power 120mm power supplies. Do all 120mm power supplies have dead spots in front that need extra cooling? According to seasonic, that's the function of the 60mm fan. The fortron version has a heatsink across the front of the case, so I assu...

The nmb-mat fan has already been tested in the spcr zalman zm460 review and it was noted to be smoother and quieter than the adda used in seasonics at low speeds. Argue with spcr if you want. As far as heatpipe placement is concerned, it looks like air flows between the fins whether or not air is mo...

The problem with 120mm power supplies is that cooling is not evenly distributed among the hot components. That's why you see interior vents on seasonics and enhance models, 60mm fans on the seasonic m12, and heatpipes on the zalman. Heatpipes are appropriate because they remove heat from one locatio...

Using heatpipes seems like a much better design decision than using an additional fan as in the m12. The heatpipes work all the time; the 60mm fan activates at high temperatures. Plus the nmb-mat fan in the zalman zm460 as tested by spcr is smoother than the adda in the seasonic m12. The same nmb-ma...
