I've had my Seagates running in the high 40's and low 50's for years. And they all still work.
High 30's is perfect. I wouldn't worry about it.

Putting the who thing into a novibes barely did anything. It needs to be inside one of Scythe's rubber boxes, methinks. But take it off the frame and it's as smooth and sweet as a baby's cheek. That is good news for me since the 2.5" NoVibes is nearly impossible to find for sale in the USA. Hoping ...

I hope the Bare Velociraptor fits the 2.5" Scythe enclosure with minimal modding. I'd then put the 2.5" Scythe into a 3.5" NoVibes. Heheh. Overkill, but why not? I would like to know if the production Velociraptor will have some kind of "Void Warranty" sticker or something that would prevent one fro...

Hmm. Now that I've been using it for a bit, The fan is not nearly as noticeable when a meter away, and with it installed in place. I do like how well it dampens HDD noise and vibrations. I have a 7200.11 1TB SATA drive in it, and it's pretty quiet (not silent, but it's pretty good). If the room is t...

Re: WD6400AAKS released
I read in the reviews on newegg about for Western Digital Caviar GP WD5000AACS 500GB that: "Do NOT attempt to use this drive for your OS, gaming, or real-time applications that may need to access the drive periodically. I was having an issue with 1-2 second freezes every few minutes while web brows...

Poor you then. In 1997 I was playing Total Annihilation online with people who were using SCSI drives and dual Pentium Pro and Pentium II processors to load levels faster. TA shows a progress bar for every player in the game on the loading screen, and people with crappy computers held everyone else...

I have the "Minja" installed on my E8400 and Abit IP35 Pro. Prefect fit. I have plenty of height clearance in my D.Vine HTPC case as well. I've ordered the TR Bolt Thru kit, as I would like the improved performance from better clamping pressure, and the peace of mind as well. I dislike those new pus...

Just installed both the 640 double platter and 320 single platter in my system at the same time. They are both suspended. I cannot hear them over my main system fan at all, seeks are barely audible (I have to put my ear within a foot of the case). I am very impressed. But this means the fan noise is...

Just fired up my new E8400 system with the 8600GT. Holy crap, the fan is loud in the 8600GT. Nvidia simply does not care to include any fan speed management in the hardware itself, unlike ATi. I will definitely be ripping the stock cooler off tomorrow and put my old AC VM-101 on it. When the Acceler...

Bending Accelero heatpipes to get it to fit smaller case
Anyone bend the Accelero heatpipes to get it to fit a lower profile case like HTPC cases?
Would like to see pics.

I haven't used Western Digital drives in some time. Sad to see that the legacy four pin molex power connector is no longer there, so the WDSC50RCW SecureConnect SATA connector won't work with it. I just powered up one of the drives. WOW. Absolutely the quietest 3.5" hard drive I've ever used. Idle n...
