The VID is locked. The specified lower vcore is probably the acceptable range for the package. AFAIK, in order to go lower, one would need BIOS undervolting. You could also mod your VID pins ;)

Here you are:

Whole system, (3) = GDDR3, (4) = GDDR4. Voltage/frequency reduction is defective on the GDDR4 version.

Redzo wrote: Go with E6420 as it will oveclock to 3-3.4 very easy. Dont worry about RAM, you can use dividers if you don't want to overclock RAM.
Lowest dividor on intel chipsets is afaik 1:1. This means 400 MHz FSB max if you want to keep your DDR2-800 sticks within spec.

Well for integrated and the Intel G965, it's just up to how much you trust intel to fix the drivers. See here for the actual situtation. Integrated graphics have 3D abilities for most games in 1024x768.

Otherwise, you could go with a passive discrete card. Do you need HDMI?

Burst speed isn't the problem. There might be problems when another device wants to transfer over the PCI bus. E.g. sound card, tv-tuner. It's just not a clear, performant solution.

Most likely a Gigabit ethernet controller which is attached via PCI and not via PCI Express. This makes the PCI bus overcrowded.

What are you measuring temps with? I suggest using Speedfan or CoreTemp Oh I forgot, the Core Duo also has the new DTS. Just check with Coretemp. But beware, it's also not as reliable in measuring absolute temperature as ony might think. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=340264#3...

Well you're 56 °C away from the upper limit ;)

I'd check the heatsink temperature since the built-in (legacy) diode is not that reliable and also needs interpretation by the mobo which leaves room for error.
