Possible to Silence Quietish 3.5 HD?

I have a Samsung P80 in a Scythe HDD Enclosure and am not too happy as I can still hear the seeks :(, currently the setup is in an Akasa Eclipse case. I'm tempted to wrap the drive in foam (or other material) and put it in the bottom chamber of a P180. Then install a fan at the front (using the mod ...

I must say that this PSU in idle is quiet like seasonis SII-12 in idle.
Seems like a bargain ;)

I think you may have issues on startup (when the computer needs most power) or during load (you may get reboots).

honestly its worked perfectly fine with me and they wouldnt have produced so many sonatas 2 if it were so dangerous and i doubt they did a revision of the PSU. SO if you say 450W is enough then i suppose I'm fine. Although on another forum somebody said 600-650W minimum, so I'm not sure what to thi...

I use Blu Tack / UHU White Tack to mount fans, I also add cable ties to through the holes.

Next time I empty my P180 I might cut the above fan holders and just use Blu Tack with cable ties.

Jab-tech has 120x20mm Yate Loons available....cheap. Before any case mods, I'd certainly try a few of these new fans, since they'll fit relatively easily. My examples are plenty quiet. Thank you :) Visited Jab-Tech yesterday and didn't notice them and have just had another look and found them. Migh...

This is a good mod, but... I don't really see the point. Why bother with this when you can just install a 20mm thick fan, which is relatively easily available, and not have to mod the case irreversibly? With this, you lose the ability to lock the lower HDD cage and also room for cables behind the h...

I have bought the PSU (FSP400-60HLN). Fan is loud... like I've expected, but PSU+exhaust air is cold in idle (didn't try load yet) Only problem is that cables are really short (specialy ATX cable) so Im not sure if they will fit in new antec P182 which I will buy in some days... BIOS and software can't give accurate voltage measurement, you need to use a multimeter.
