I see what could be a potential problem in that it does not look like these coolers will fit (depending on their exact height on the vertical part) when running with a tower cooler on the cpu. On my Abit An8-Ultra I have 60mm between the bottom of the Ninja and my video card. The vertical part looks...

I can't say for sure if the grill is the cause of the noise, was assuming that was the cause given the fans used and the mounting method used. I hear a slight buzzing sound. I first noticed it using a Nexus set a different voltages from 6v-12v. Currently using a Yate Loon there hooked up to the moth...

Well at least I'm not alone on the rear grill matter. I noticed this with a Nexus and a Yate Loon (currently using). After a bit I guess I just got used to it though cause I really don't notice at all now. But I would assume cutting out the grill would solve it. For the time being I cut a piece of c...

Underclocking 6800gt pcie
While temps have been decent for my card with a Zalman vf700cu running at 1600rpm, I figured if I underclocked it for 2d mode it might better temps unless I'm gaming or doing something with 3d. So the stock clocks for my eVGA card are 350/1000. For 2d mode I'm trying 325/1000 to see how it works, I ...

For the Yate Loons anything 900rpm and lower is very quiet. The YL will start every time at 5V Sorry, bit off topic, but what kind of controller are you using? I have 2 hooked up to an Aerogate III (which goes from 5v-12v) and I can't get them to stay spinning at 5v, they just shut off. The slowest ...

I think it would depend if your motherboard can automatically adjust fan speed according to temps. I have an Abit An8 Ultra in a p180 with the Ninja. When I was running my 4400+ I had the front Yate Loon set at 900rpm and the back Yate Loon plugged into the motherboard. I had it setup in BIOS so the...

I don't understand why it can't be thick/re-inforced plastic. I don't know if I got a different manual with mine. But I do recall it stating something to the effect of; if the Scythe backplate does not clear all motherboard components, use the backplate supplied with the motherboard. Unless you buy...

That's exactly what I'm looking to do. Well the duct part anyways, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I did try the concept out with some cardboard. CPU load temps dropped about 1-2C, but I saw a good improvement in my PWM temps, about 4C compared to without the duct. Would like to do something i...

What other case fans do you have? I have the same setup as far as mobo/heatsink goes, even under load sys temp gets to 35C. PWM idles around 36C-38C goes up to about 47-48C under load. The only time PWM will heat up a bit is if I run the Ninja passive which I did for a while. But found the Nexus run...

Speedfan 4.28 settings
Hello, Is anyone else having trouble with Speedfan not saving settings in regard to the graphics card? My 6800gt has the MAX6648 sensor, so I setup the local/remote temps in speedfan for my video card (ambient/gpu). No matter what I do it will not keep my offset values, desired/warning values or eve...

I used to be a fan of Matrox. Had the 450, 550 and the 650. In between those I did try ATI and Nvidia cards. My experience is if you're sticking with CRT monitors, Matrox does give a higher quality image. When the 6800 series first came out I got a 6800nu to drive 2 high quality NEC 19" CRT monitors...

Sorry, the Yate Loons are the D12SL-12, I think that's the medium speed model. They spin at 1350rpm at 12v. I have all 3 hooked up to a Coolermaster Aerogate III, set to about 900rpm (somewhere around 7v I guess) and they are extremely quiet. I was using 3 Tricools before in the case and I can say t...

Well Antec on your side of the pond seems to be more "on the ball" than their US counterparts. I just got my replacement side panels and door. Doesn't look too bad if you have the room. I've heard of some people running this passive. At 150g and the design, it looks like it could do a really nice job fanless.

Hello, Yes it fits fine. I install the ram first, then installing the Ninja I secure the clips closest to the ram and then the other 2. With the Ninja installed, there is enough room still to pull out the ram. The fan doesn't go any lower than the clips it basically sits on the clips. So the bottom ...

What I'm looking for is a controller that can work with 4 fans (more wouldn't matter), display rpm and be able to program buttons. In my opinion it's very minimal, only when the drive(s) are working. But light or idle, no vibrations. I think it's due to the system being a lot more quiet overall. But the HDDs now are really loud, both idle and active. My next thing is to figure out a way to suspend them in the lower chamber. If ...

NV Silencer Fan connector
Has anyone ran the fan of a Silencer off a connector other than the video card? A while back I took a Zalman vf700 and cut the wire and connected a 2 pin connector. Apparently the Zalman fans needs too much juice because the fan header on my card blew :( Even though I've seen others do the exact thi...

An alternative to fiddling around with tools to remove pins from conenctors is to simply cut them off and crimp on new ones. That is true. This last time around I didn't have enough ATX pins laying around, so I had to go the "long way" around ;) I like using a heatgun for the shrink tube. It's easi...
