I'm in for that GD04.

I was about to get the 2480, but this thing has smaller volume and 3x 120mm fans to boot. Wondering about fan placement though, but the all black front will match my components much better.

People complaining about storage capacity are missing the point. And if you haven't tried it and seen the difference, you may wish to consider your lack of hands-on experience when stating your opinions.... EXACTLY! Its getting tiring to raed people whine about every little bump SSD experiences. Th...

It looks like I'm SOL, and will probably end up with the 2480. The Fusion or NSK1480 would have been great.

Unfortunately, either can't take full length/height vid cards, like my GTX - which I'll be using for gaming.

Thanks!

any other desktop/htpc cases with 120mm fans?

was intent on getting the nsk2400/2480, but after seeing it in person, its a bit big. Lian-Li has a realy nice one wit the 140mm fan inside, but that's even larger. Anything else out there with 120mm fan mounts? I wanted to go with larger fans as I will be using this box as a HTPC and for gaming. Th...

I was thinking of the Krylon, but the Black Satin finish instead.

1000 grit, sanded once? then spray?

Also, any idea if a full length card like a GTX 275 would fit in there?

Thanks!

What a stupid place I live in. 300GB version is >$350 here. 150Gb is <$240. When I got mine the USD/PLN rate was a little better so it didn't hurt that much. Still tho, it was mighty spensive :( GRRR... $185 WITHOUT REBATES. :D http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A2032299&cs=1...

Yes. Newegg and even TigerDirect has had very recent sales where the 300GB version was at $199 and even lower with rebate and using Bing for example.

Great. Thanks for the feedback kater.

How are the current batches of the Velociraptors?

Specifically the WD3000HLFS I'm upgrading an aging Spinpoint T1 and finally getting my NAS setup, so I don't need much space. Are there still inconsistencies as with the earlier batches? whine/clicking/heat, etc? Or has WD sorted this out with the newests releases? Thanks for any input. *I was think...

if you decide to upgrade the HD, I suggest you look into the 1TB WD10EVCS or the EVVCS. The EVCS is being discontinued, but the EVVCS is its natural replacement, less cache, butthat doesn't matter for the TIVO. very silent drive. I've been running one for almost 1 year now with no problems. *I gotta...

I finally got the 1000RPM Kama-Flex installed. They are quieter than the normal Slipstreams @1000RPM. They are probably close to the S-Flex. Sycthe's naming schemes are getting more and more confusing. I actually just ordered 2x 120mm Kama-FLEX fans last night. (1000RPM) So...if we go by the naming logic....its a hyrbid of the Kama-Flow and S-FLEX. I have tired the S-Flex and the SlipStreams. I'll post back on subjective results....

I'm still waiting for a single-platter 500GB 7200RPm from either WD or Samsung. The new generation HDs are quiet enough for me, even at 7200RPM.
