Re: Silent Lian Li PC-A04

My A04 will be delivered tomorrow. I suppose that you keep your computer on your desk, since you want to silence the front of the case. But mine will be on the floor besides me. I will try to disconnect the top fan. The air forced in from the front would flow out from the top and rear. Nope, it's o...

Re: Silent Lian Li PC-A04

No I can't hear it, it may have been the sleeve bearings with the stock fans. I'm thinking about getting a 80-120mm fan adapter for the rear and omitting the front fans.

Re: Silent Lian Li PC-A04

I may get both soon, but as of this moment, I think the temperatures and noise levels are fine. I do have a Scythe Slipstream PWM that came with the Ninja, perhaps I will try that.

Re: Paradigm Millenia HT Speaker System

Then why do their own SUB 2 go down to 7Hz? Yeah, 20Hz may be the threshold of hearing but you can definitely feel bass below that. I understand that there needs to be tradeoffs regarding the WAF (the SUB 2 just dominates the living room), but the cutoff at 21Hz just isn't that ideal, compared to th...

Re: Paradigm Millenia HT Speaker System

I don't really count that sub as a subwoofer (doesn't go low enough for real impact), they should've loaned you their SUB2's. LOL.

You could clip the Minja and clamp/solder the heatpipes shut, but that'd be risky.

Re: I need a media drive for my PC

I wanted to avoid green drives due to the head parking issue WD greens have and that file transfers are fairly slow compared to a 7200rpm drive.

I need a media drive for my PC

Currently I am using 2 x WD20EARS externally in enclosures for backup/archiving purposes to prevent premature wearing of the drive due to constant use (head parking and all) and need a different drive for music and videos in my PC (since they will be accessed fairly frequently). Should I avoid green...

3TB secondary drives with 32bit OS?

Am I right in thinking that a 3TB drive, when used as a secondary, non-boot drive will still work in a 32bit OS, such as XP Pro? Or would I need to use that little doohickey WD included with the 3TB drive?

Thanks!

Basically, Scythe's EU division said that it's possible to fit a Setsugen on if the 5770/5750 doesn't have stacked SVI posts. This means that any other cooler designed for the prior gen of ATI cards will word as well, on sigle-slot cards.

Anyone with a few spare Black Solo 5.25 covers?

I'll gladly pay you fr a few, I'm sick and tired of having to find specific drives that match the Solo's finish, as well as look understated and not overly gaudy. Will be stealthing my drive.

Thanks, Brendan

Exactly....but the one that doesn't have it has two optical drives...how often are you going to be copying discs? And since when did hifi equipment come in silver?

The 16V is too 'thick' IMO...If I decide to go the OrigenAE route, it's wither the 14V: http://www.origenae.com/en/htpc_s14v.htm OR the X8 (no specs on it though)...both in black.

High-end HTPC Case

I would've gotten the Omaura...but I'm a month too late and the only NA distributor disappeared. I don't want the Antec case...looks too 'bulky'...something extremely simple with little to no markings on. Finish has to be something along the lines of a matte (or anodized) black, NOT a brushed finish...

My friend tested them...his dba scale: The dBA scale is, again, an artificial adjustment of raw data to 'consumerize' the data to numbers that we are more familiar with. My 30dBA is not exactly the same as Company A's 30dBA. Then again, Company A's 30dBA isn't the same as any other company's anyway ...

The bigger one pulls an EXACT 102CFM at EXACTLY 39Dba...undervolt it and it'll still beat the Nexus...plus it's not a sleeve bearing fan, rather a dual ball bearing so it has a pretty long life. One thing it does better than other fans it the ridiculous amount of static pressure. B...

I have two choices then...the mobo is 10" x 10", so I can either mount it my way, or the way in the Mac picture. The HS are angled, so they won't hit the DVD burner or the HD cage.

Well, killer graphics are the least of my concerns, as it will not be used for gaming at all. Also, the GFXchilla got chosen because it's a compact unit, and I need all the extra slots it frees up, as there isn't much room for expansion on this MATX board. Furthermore, from what people have told me,...
