Which spec/part number are the latest WD drives?

I haven't ever really looked into their kit because of their previously noisy universal rep.

I was having a look at the UK Samsung site and there's no mention of any hard drives whatsoever.

I've been stalling on another drive for what seems ages. I've been playing move the data around because I don't wanna leap into the dark with a non Samsung drive.

Cutting down the vibration caused by HDDs in external enclosures has always been tricky. So when I stumbled over info about the Vantec NexStar 2 3.5" case I became interested.

I can tell you they vibrate a lot in external cases.

Actually I tempted to just get a big gb drive for a once a fortnight/month mega backup and try to carry less on the iomega. That way any drive will do (within reason) although I'd prefer one that keeps the vibes down as I find that worse than whine or whoosh when you've got a drive on the tabletop. ...
