YAAAAY!

Post by MonsterMac » Mon Apr 26, 2004 6:53 pm

Hey Guys!

I'm pretty pysched right now because I just successfully installed my VGA Silencer, and Thermalright SLK-900A w/ 92mm Zalman fan with a Zalman fanmate (runs at 5V). Here are some quick pics I shot:

I'm stupid. I see the mobo chipset now, hidden by that sweet 92mm.

Great job, looks spectacular.

Thanks! All that's left is to put in the 350W Fortron PSU I just got and then it's time to update my pics in the gallery!

Very nice! After you swap out the PSU you should have a nice system that you can enjoy for a long time.

Thanks for the comments guys! I just put in my Fortron 350W Auraura and was very disappointed with it. You can manually control the 120mm fan however... It is also temperature controlled so it can override what you set it to; even though the air coming out of it isnt warm! I was so taken aback at how loud this was, I stuck a Panaflo L1A I had kicking around in my PSU by cutting the positive and negative wires off the old Antec (it's an Antec TruePower 380W PSU that came with my old sonata) fan and then cut the wires on my Panaflo L1A. Then I spliced the two positives together; and the two negatives together. Then I soldered them and heatshrinked it and viola! SILENCE. While the noise level is outstanding, Antec PSU's are known for how hot they run, and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience modding their Antec TruePower 380W that came with the Sonata? BTW reguarding the PSU I still have the fan grill removed and I have the hexagonal slats in the back. Thanks for the responses!

you have the same general layout that i do bro! how ya like it? the motherboard is capible of runnint the cpu at 0.1 volts lower then stock, and mine did flawlessly, and it would save you a few degrees. and prehaps even run the fan lower then 5 volts for less noise.

teh mobo's been working out pretty wel for me. the layoutcould be configured better to my liking (the positioning of the ide slots and poewr slots is not ideal for me) but it's worked flawlessly (i do no overclocking or underclocking). my only real complaint is that PCAlert gives some pretty off temp readings :( (they are way too hot; when they're not that hot according to bios) and MBM5 gives temps that aer way too low (way below bios temp readings which seem the most accurate) so whenever i want ot check my temps i use sisandra which gets temps closest to bios ones.

MBM5 needed to be calibrated properly. i found that too at first, and now it shows temps between 40-45C for the cpu, which is about right, the heatsink is reasonably warm but not hot at all. I would say its the warmpth of a really cozy blanket. lol.

I keep my CPU at the same speed but i lowered the voltage slightly to make the CPU run a couple of degrees lower. it still runs perfectly stable and it folds 24/7.

I love the layout of the red motherboard and red radeon.

MonsterMac - may I have a question about the Geil PC3200 rams? :P What timings they can manage at 200Mhz FSB you tried, or using standard 166Mhz and with what timings? :?:
Im just interesed how the are capable off

i have one gig of corsair xms 3200 and its rated for 2.5-3-2 at 200mhz by spd, the best it can do is 2-3-2 at 166. at 200 i think it wasnt perfectly stable at 2-3-2. so either its a mb limitation or the ram is just not able to run 222. however on my friends p4 motherboard he could get 250 mhz out of them at 3-4-3 i think.

there not the famous bh5 chips that everyone goes after. i am somwhat dissapointed out of them because the nforce 2 really cant make use of them well. anyone want to trade for some 222 ram that wont over clock?
