New PlexTools software to have SilentMode option

Post by SometimesWarrior » Fri Mar 14, 2003 12:08 am

I read a quick note about this about halfway down the page in a CD Freaks news blurb. All it says is that the new PlexTools' SilentMode will provide "special silent performance". Maybe it's a simple drive speed limiter, or maybe it's a bit smarter than that. Either way, it can't be a bad thing, right?

It looks from the news post that you don't need a new Premium-model Plextor to use SilentMode, so perhaps anyone with a Plextor drive and the updated software could benefit. No release date was given for the PlexTools update.

That's wonderful for everybody except us poor souls here in the US where Plextor refuses to let us use PlexTools. If you want to use it here you have to look for illegal versions of it.

Oh, I forgot the second part of the article ;):
Plextor has also announced that their PlexTools software (which is currently only shipped with European drives) will become available worldwide!
