Is my PSU/CPU overheating?

Post by Politik » Tue Mar 18, 2003 6:52 pm

I bought 2 18CFM NMB fans and put 1 in my PSU and 1 as a case exhaust.

My ASUS A7V (KT133) shows MB temp of 39 celcius, and a temp probe in the PSU shows the air is 48 celcius.

These are load figures.. too hot, or OK?

The Mobo temp seems a bit high (unless that's your CPU, in which case it would be really low), but the PSU temp seems completely fine.

My MB is 30 right now, PSU is 46.1, running folding. No clue what ambient is...

I dont know what the PSU heatsink temps are.. I just stuck the thermal probe in the middle of the PSU, and it reads 48C.

Ahh, the probe seems to add 10C, because it says the temp outside my case is 32C.

This didnt make sense until I remembered that one of the bios updates increased the cpu temp probe reading 10C to more accurately reflect the real die temp, and this probe is plugged into the cpu probe pins.
