have you tried a different monitor? i can hear my monitor slightly more when it displays a lot of white. is it only ie or does any software with a large area of white cause a similar problem.
just a thought.

Are You listening some music (mp3s) at the same time? Or does the buzzing occur even with no sound/music coming out of the speakers?

Cheers,

Jan

You might check the outlet you are using and that it is grounded properly - 3 wire plug?

Or try plugging into a differetn outlet, I did this at work once and it stopped, I was pciking up apparent noise from the shop radios.

Try less aggressive PCI settings in BIOS. Items such as 'byte merge', 'PCI to Dram Prefetch', 'Delayed Transaction', there is one more I forgot. Well .. put them all to Disabled. See if it helps.

Seems like you already have tried putting different cards in different slots. But that can work too.

check that line-in and mic are muted, even if nothing is connected to them as they can often pick up interfearence from other components

What is your system config? I used to have similar problems. One was caused by an older version of the highpoint raid driver.

I used to have an el'cheapo soundcard from IOMagic that caused hissing whenever I had activity on the bus. I tried a gazillion things but ended up replacing it with a 5.1 Soundblaster.

One thing that did help was to lower the hardware acceleration settings of the soundcard from highest to minimal.
