Just a couple suggestions: re the M2 -- might have to try another one. They don't all make noise -- I have several, none of which makes any noise. You could try covering the charger stand with something like a big woolen cap? Though you might be risking overheating -- but higher pitched noise is usually more directionally, so maybe you can cover most of it and leave a gap for airflow.
